Be Careful Out There (UK)
As temperatures fall in UK I listened to warnings about falls on ice and made a mental note. I have been trying to walk every day while on chemo (carbo/Caelyx for 3rd recurrence). i was about 200 metres from home yesterday when I looked down and realised the pavement which had looked fine was actually

Transfer day ….
My two eggs survived to day 3…. One was 8 cell and the other 10 cell. I’ve got steroids this time so I’m really hoping it helps with NK cells. Had lap surgery a few months ago too so I’m hoping for a better environment for them will help also. So any tips now…foods to eat, things to avoid. I’ve taken

Surgery and immuno suppressants
Hi everyone. I am due to have minor surgery on my wrist and have been asked by my surgeon to cease taking mycophenolate for a week before and a week after my operation (I presumed because of possible risk of infection?). I spoke to my rheumatologist about this and she considered it unnecessary to stop

paroxysmal AF and flying
hi. Can anyone here give me some advice and hopefully some reassurance please. I’ve had AF since being diagnosed August 2022. First episode on the night coming home from a very strenuous and incident filled 2 week motor home ‘holiday’ in Scotland. Our first and probably our last. Not very restful!

continuing back pain
I was diagnose with 2b Ovarian Cancer in April 22. I had surgery and 6 rounds of Chemo. I have a very supportive team . I have had an MRI , CT and spinal x-ray all have shown degenerative changes to my spine. There is no evidence of recurrence. My CA125 is 13. The problem is I’m consumed with anxiety

Preserflo Surgery - When will the Blurriness heal?
Hi everyone, my husband just had a preserflo surgery on his right eye. It's his 5th day post op but he is complaining that he can't see at all, it's so blurry. On the follow op appointment, his doctor said IOP has gone down to 13 from 20 and the surgery was a success. I want to ask when is his vision

Frequent Eye Prescription Changes and Cataract Surgery
Hi all, I am a GCA patient since AUG 22. I started on 60 MG Prednisone and have tapered to 5.5 mg since then using DSNS. I have had vision problems almost from the start -- blurry vision mostly, but now I have significant cataracts -- AND I've had to change my prescription 4 times since AUG 22. My

Having a mild pain where the surgery was done before 5 years
Hi, my surgery was done in 2018 and the surgeon removed maximum of my tumor. 5% of tumor was still left and because of that they keep a check on it with regular yearly MRI scans. This year I had my MRI scan done and the results were normal. But now suddenly today I am having external pain where the surgery

KNEE SURGERY
Hello all, just had a call from my Hospital informing me that my total knee replacement surgery is in 2 WEEKSAs I have Lymphoedema in both legs - left leg is worse. Surgery is on right knee. I have been told the leg will be tightly dressed from ankle to groin to try and avoid me having an ulcerated leg

Breathlessness update
Some time ago I posted about my breathlessness and on going investigations.Over the last year I've had a thorough MOT of my heart and lungs and I passed with no advisories. It seems to me now that I had overreacted to some symptoms and become anxious. The anxiety made me become over-protective. This

Cutenous endometriosis
Hi there, I had my 4th endo surgery early this year and have developed cutaneous endometriosis by my belly button. It causes pain at tines and I thought it was a keloid, but my GP thinks it's cutaneous endometriosis. Has anyone experienced this and if anyone has any advice. X

Accessing NHS hospital test results
I'm sure I've read that we can access results for blood tests etc at hospital via the NHS app. I only seem to be able to see GP services and even then it does not have my GP surgery test results or records. The only things I can see are current and past medications going back to 2005 and my vaccination

Rapidly rising TPO Antibodies, should I be worried?
Hi again everyone. Last Monday I did a home blood test with MMH, the full health + tpo. The results came back as 199 - range 0-35. I then had a GP appointment on Friday to discuss my concerns about my recent blood results, of course she completely dismissed them and told me to get some more bloods done

Hysterectomy leaving 1 ovary...
Does anyone have experience of this? I seen an expert gynae BSGE clinical lead and he was so blaze about the fact I may as well just get a hysterectomy since I'm done having kids. I have andenomyosis and endo 6 cysts on one ovary so he said I could keep one which would stop menopause symptoms. But I'm
