Have you Impulsive Compulsive Behaviour? Do you know anyone who has this? Do you know anyone on Mirapex or Requip. Promipexal or Ropinirole?
I hope you will trust me with your life, if we by sharing our tales of woe about these sad meds we have to take, it could help the Pd people following up in our footsteps, be brave, share your stories, we don't need names, we are all in the same boat, I think it's called the Titanic. I know this is

Self managing PD - Are we serious or not?
I was put on a Dopamine Agonist,
Mirapexin
which was titrated up (introduced gradually in small increments) until I felt the benefit. I was also given a drug to combat feeling sick called Domperidone. This worked great and I was able to drop the Domperidone.

Mirapexin
In the end I went to my neuro (I have Parkinson's) and he prescribed
mirapexin
(mirapex in US). It works great for ME. He increased the dosage which did not suit me but I empowered myself to regulate the meds to suit me and it works just fine now .

I'm on Sinemet 25/100 (1 1/2 tablet) 4 times a day. I can honestly say it doesn't seem like my symptoms ever change, I don't feel like I
have on/off periods. My Neuro is going to have me go off my meds for 48 hours then have me come into the office and run me through the usual tests. Then he is going to medicate me and then check me again to see what changes, if anything. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in July 2010 and initially

Adjusting medication
Having been prescribed
mirapexin
for RLS was started on 0.088mg x 1 for a week then x 2 the week after. Did not sleep first week but after 2 nights of x 2 slept through. Mediction then upped to 0.25 SR. Sent me wappy - dyskinesia and dystonia off the scale.

The hidden shame of drug-affected behaviors resulting from Dopamine agonists.
Dopamine agonists such as Requip and Mirapex can cause Obsessive Compulsive and addictive like symptoms. Documented research has acknowledged the facts. The problem is the data is skewed simply because there are so many unreported cases. The shame and embarrassment prevents PD patients from reporting

The idea of increasing the
mirapexin
was to reduce the sinemet I am currently taking. A great idea but just far too quickly. I, having discussed this with my GP, am going back to basics i.e. 0.088mg which I started on.

How do you deal with gastroparesis?
I have been diagnosed with bile reflux disease and erosive gastritis which the doctor states is being aggravated by my gastroparesis. According to the GI gastroparesis is rather common in PD and I know that I have been diagnosed with it for at least 2 years longer than I have with PD. Anyway, if I

Mirapex ER......
Mirapex is 1 of the 3 meds i take daily. I have found it is the Mirapex that's causing me to have a bad sore gut all the time. I live on crackers and tums to keep the acids in check and not feel sick to my stomach. I am new to this, is this something that will fade or what.... Also, the Sudden Sleep

The Dark Years (warning my blogs are not all full of cheer&hope)
I don't know why I write these blogs. I guess it more of a therapy for me to vent my feelings. Parkinson's, I hate that word. I read a lot of hopes for cure, great attitudes and I don't want to bring any one down ..So if you don't want to read a non-positive blog don"t read this. I am here to tell

I wanna new Drug (one that won't make me sick)
You said it Huey; one that won't make me crash my car or make me feel three feet thick. Sounds like Mr. Lewis had some knowledge of Parkinson's drugs. MIRAPEX a nonergot dopamine agonist, was the first drug prescribed for me.Side effects include: extreme drowsiness, falling asleep suddenly, even

Anyone else get tardive dyskinesia when taking Lomotil and Phenergan?
I have been really sick lately and was given Lomotil and Phenergan, both of which I have taken separately in the past with no problems. This time I had severe episodes of tardive dyskinesia which I found rather disturbing. I also take 1.5mg Mirapex 3 times daily and 150mg Topamax 2 times daily, in case

Ok, so I am a PWP. The neurologist said "you have Parkinson's take these pills and I'll see you back in (3) months?!?!
I was diagnosed on the morning of April 10th of 2009, at the age of 52.. In February of 2009 I finally admitted that my symptoms were something to be addressed not written off as fatigue, stress or whatever reasons I had been using to that point. My symptoms were only on my left-side, a very slight intentional
