Update 7.6
The LFTs remain WNL since I started on the
Milk
Thistle
extract. The MPN Specialist took note of that as I am not the only patient she has on IFNs who have had an increase in the liver numbers.

advise please
Since last year I have given up smoking drinking and following a strict diet with
milk
thistle
. The only thing I feel that has caused it is drinking large smoothies every morning. I am finding correlating advise on the internet. I can’t have a referral to hepatology because my bloods are ok.

hi - just wondering if anyone take
milk
thistle
with PBC? if so does it matter what stage your PBC is?

Natural remedies. Essential oils.
Medication side effects have been so severe that I only take
milk
thistle
. My ALT and AST are normal but my Alk Phos has gone back up by 60 points. I also haven't gotten any exercise lately which had helped a lot to get my numbers lower. I also have type 2 diabetes.

The doctor never did further tests but since then I’ve been using

I have been taking some supplements that Gemma recommended at our first consultation to support my liver ( L-Glutathion, Sulforaphan,
Milk
Thistle
). I am hoping to make some impact on my health. I live in hope.

Milk thistle - anything to be aware of?
I have read about the benefits of
milk
thistle
supplementation with respect to helping with both liver and thyroid matters.

Back on Besremi next week!
Speaking with the liver specialist- some things that surprised me: -
Milk
Thistle
(meh… doesn’t hurt doesn’t help. Don’t waste your money.) Don’t take green tea supplements. (Drinking green tea is fine.) Don’t take Turmeric supplements. (Used on food is fine.) Ashwaghanda was also a big no no.

Fybro & CBD - homemade cream
I add also- mint,
milk
thistle
, cayenne, cloves, lavender, etc. - just check what you can find locally , can use powder or oil. I give my creams to friends and relatives and they all ask for more - really help and anyone can do it for the fraction of the price.

Liver enzymes up on Besremi
They have also taken me off Nattokinase and don’t want me to take
milk
thistle
. I don’t think they REALLY think that will hurt my liver but are grasping at whatever is not western medicine. I am doing what they ask for now.

Update 7.3 Good news this time
I have been being kind to my liver (AKA less ETOH) and on advice of my Integrative Medicine doc, I started on a supplement of
Milk
Thistle
to supplement liver function. I have been having a occasional mild dyspnea/tachypnea. The MPN Specialist does not think it is PV related.
