First post-ADT followup. So far so good ... but it's early
I just had my first followup with my MO since I started my ADT vacation. Just to review: - Dx'd in October 2017. PSA 56. I had some mild BPH-like symptoms but nothing else. I've never had any other symptoms. The prostate biopsy confirmed the Dx. All cores showed cancer. One core was Gleason 9. A couple

Chemo as first treatment
Is there a reason as to why some patients go on ADT (Lupron, Firmagon, etc) and Chemo instead of a different path at the beginning of PC diagnosis? Background- my husband was first dx with stage 4 with PSA 350 and bone mets throughout (ribs, spine, pelvis, shoulders, skull). He started on Docetaxal immediately

Phosphate Levels Dropping
Should I be worried. Almost one year since last Lupron Injection, so six months approx since Lupron free. Feeling much better since Lupron is out of my system, and latest bloods show that PSA is still <0.1 and T is 14.6nmol/L. Unfortunately, over the past three blood tests my Phosphate levels have

Questions about recent scans
In Sept. I had an Axumin PET and an MRI of the pelvis/prostate. Last scans (same two) were in August 2020. Diagnosed 8/2018. Gleason 8-9, PSA 200. Started Lupron Nov. 2018, Xgeva 1/2020. No other treatment, except numerous supps, cannabis, and off label meds. PSA has been under 1.0 since beginning

What does a high Chromoganin A,S test mean?
I have been on lupron for 5 1/2 years. My PSA has been slowly going up. PSA 3 months ago at uro was 0.23, last week it was 0.22. I went to Hollings Cancer Center too see MO for the first time. PSA was 0.3. One of the test was Charomoganin. My number was 145ng/ml , the range should be <93/ml. Does

Lifelong ADT vs Adjuvant ADT and other questions
I'm confused regarding Lifelong ADT vs. Adjuvant ADT, what my options are. Recently at the Mayo - please read my profile, it's a quick read. I met with Kwon and he indicated I could end ADT in 6 months (that was in September). OK, that confused me as he initially told me 2 years when he originally

PSA .04 up from undetectable six weeks ago
Open till six weeks ago I was on Xtandi for a year with an undetectable PSA. Six weeks ago I stopped taking the Xtandi but continued with my Lupron and my PSA has gone up to .04. My question is should I get back on the Xtandi or possibly try Zytiga and prednisone. My understanding is when I become resistant

Looking for suggestions
I had a RP in 1999 and PC under control for 20 years through Lupron, Casodex, Radiation, Chemo infusion and Trelstar. In 2020 PSA went up to 25 and started Zytiga and PSA went to 126 immediately which was when I started Chemo. Initially PSA went back down to 25 and after completing Chemo in April 2021

Sense to knocking...
“There might be some sense to your knocking,” the Footman went on, without attending to her, “if we had the door between us. For instance, if you were *inside,* you might knock and I could let you out, you know.” - Lewis Caroll I think medical professionals are Footmen; and I am a confused Alice, wondering

DepoProvera for Lupron SEs--many questions
On my MO's recommendation, I've started DepoProvera [DP] injections to combat serious sleep deprivation and other side-effects of Lupron/Zytiga. So far, I've had 3 shots, roughly a month apart. It really helps! But I'm concerned about using this drug, and my MO is basically ignoring my questions about

Has anyone used Dr. Gary Onik (Dr. Hope)? Want opinions.
Hi everyone... as most of you know...I still look(and mostly feel) pretty great. BUT my PSA is just under 1000 and my last scans showed cancer in 97 % of my bones. So the picture is not pretty. (kinda reminds me of "The Picture of Dorian Gray". Everyone keeps telling how good I look and how I don't

Looking for anyone else with the RAD51B mutation with mets to liver.
New here but not new to Prostate cancer. I'm writing for my dad that was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in October 2010 via digital exam when PSA was only 2.8. Had robotic surgery Feb. 2011 - post Gleason Score 7 (4+3) minor component pattern 5, margins clean and no Seminal Vesicle involvement

Slight PSA Rise
Well, here we go again. On Xtandi and Lupron and Zometa. Feb PSA at .31 May PSA at .29 Aug PSA at .21 Sep PSA at .27 Next test in Nov. Hopefully just noise or random fluctuation. Nov will give more of an idea. At least we know what to watch for. And have some plans ready to consider.
