Why I need to have a heart attack !!!
What a terrible thing to have to write but sadly it is true. Please let me explain. On 4th December I was scheduled to have triple heart bypass surgery but the procedure was postponed just before I was due to be taken into theatre. I would add that the operation was due to be undertaken at a private

Not Sure What to do Next
In March I saw my EP who put me on the waiting list for an ablation for SVT. This will be my second, the first was in 2014 for Afib. I have been reasonably well throughout the summer with a heart rate in the mid 90s until the end of September when my heart rate suddenly shot up to 150 and stayed there

Merry Xmas from within the NHS
I have been waiting for heart surgery since the beginning of the pandemic Two days before Xmas I have two heart attacks - seems that’s the way to speed things up. Xmas dinner was courtesy of the NHS - I have eaten worse however Santa did come and each of us ladies on the ward received a gift. I will

Is this sepsis?
I have had this infection looking thing on my finger for a few days, and today I tried to pop it to no success, I sterilized the needle that I used and nothing would come out, Should I be concerned I have also dressed the wound with Neosporin and cleaned it out with soap and water and have put a band

Question about Metoprolol
Hi all - just curious, I’m taking 25 mg metoprolol twice a day and I should have stopped it by now but worried my ectopics will increase if I do. Does metoprolol affect heart rhythm or just heart rate?

Beef Cobbler with Cheese and Rosemary Scones for Lytham's Casserole Off
I apologise for the picture, it doesn't do justice to the casserole, however, in future I would add more stock, as the scones soak up a lot of the gravy. It tastes fantastic! Even if I do say so myself! :D
INGREDIENTS FOR 8 PORTIONS
900g braising/stewing/chuck steak cut into cubes 3 tbsp coconut

A taste of Mexican - Vegetarian Style
My daughter has been coming over each week and cooking a meal for us whilst I’m laid up. This week it was Vegetarian Burrito Bowls. The base is black beans, butter beans, corn kernels, onion and taco seasoning cooked up together and served with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, avocado,

Sleep issues and a question about dysautonomia
I am waking up in the most nights. I have the sensation of a TENS unit going off in my hands, arms and now my bottom lip. My lower lip was firing off like mad. My husband was not sure what to think because he could actually see my lip rapidly jerking. Had it happened when I was more awake I would have

Brief history Hashi’s - 12yrs Levo - 10.5yrs Levo + T3 - since April 2019 I’ve been doing amazingly well since day 1 of introducing T3, no complaints. If I felt some hypo symtoms I’ve raised T3. I started on 15mcg and now I’m on 25mcg. Levo was lowered initially at endos request upon starting T3,

How is the NHS doing?
Given that those of us who are Lupus patients tend to be regular service users of the NHS, I was wondering whether our attitudes towards the NHS have changed due to the Covid pandemic. I have read some real horror stories on here and in other media and could not believe what I was seeing when I watched

Pain threshold?
Am I being a wimp & just need to man up? I really don’t know how I’m meant to feel or if the level of aches & pain I’m experiencing is ‘normal’ or as expected - can anyone tell me how they feel and deal with this ? I’m struggling in the mornings with stiff legs, lower back pain getting out of bed. Then
