Melanoma Groin Dissection
Hi I recently had a groin dissection for
melanoma
& had 5 lymph nodes removed , I’m told the cancer was in just one of those. & I am now being offered Immunotherapy but when I read all the side effects one actually being skin cancer itself , I am not sure whether to have this or just have scans to check

Proud to see another of our life-saving stories make it into the BDJ (British Dental Journal) this month!
This can prevent disfigurement through surgery and in the case of spotting a
melanoma
, improve prognosis and potentially save lives! 1 in 4 UK males and 1 in 5 UK females will develop non-
melanoma
skin cancer in their lifetime AND 1 in 36 males / 1 in 47 females will develop
melanoma
.

Sun beds are not safe - Fact
Even one sunbed use can increase your risk of
melanoma
by 20% and sunbed use before the age of 35 can increase the risk of
melanoma
by 75%! The message is clear, when it comes to UV, there’s no such thing as a safe tan! SUNBEDS ARE NOT SAFE - FACT

Passing of Charles Tarleton (Ctarleton)
Unfortunately, his body was also attacked by another cancer, stage 4
melanoma
. Now he would “have to ride two horses”. I watched as he managed fighting two deadly cancers simultaneously while still maintaining a positive attitude.

Treatment Options Dwindling ... Arranging In-Home Hospice Care
I also developed metastatic
melanoma
a little over two years ago. Details about my treatments and various dates are in my Profile. The most recent double chemo tried for the
melanoma
really beat my body down, and I can hardly walk.

Successfully removed
melanoma
from left ear in 2005. I was diagnosed in early October (2021) with prostate cancer. After a series of reports, an MRI, bone scan, and CT scan, we know that my Gleason scores were all 9's; there was cancer in all 12 biopsy sites at 80 - 100%. PSA was 9.8.

Prednisolone and cancer
I have spent most of my working life in the out doors and have had 2 melanomas as a result, so I am not panicking, I am proof that you can have a
melanoma
and survive, 10 years so far, but I would like to get some information before I see the team at Dermatology.

A Minor Hospice Tip
Still can hardly walk due to how much my feet, legs, and muscles nerves got beaten up by the prior double chemo Carboplatin + Taxol I had as a last treatment for my comorbid advanced prostate cancer and also the advanced rare
melanoma
. Painwise, I've been relatively OK, so far.

Priority review of relatimab plus nivo
September 20, 2021 FDA grants priority review to relatlimab-nivolumab regimen for advanced
melanoma
Does anyone know what this “priority review” means in regards to when this combination would become available to patients ? Thanks

Adjuvant Pembrolizumab Boosts Recurrence-Free Survival in Stage 2 High-Risk Melanoma after surgery
Rdad these results carefully noting use of Pembro with high risk
melanoma
patients increased length of time to recurrance, but there are concerns about use of Pembro with stage 2 which may eliminate it as a metastatic intervention. https://www.medpagetoday.com/meetingcoverage/esmo/94582?

CAR T-Cell Use Possible in Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer
Whereas immune checkpoint inhibitors have really changed prognosis in a major way for diseases like
melanoma
and renal cell carcinoma, creating these durable remissions, you just don’t see that same impact of standard immunotherapy like checkpoint inhibitors in prostate cancer.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to see if anyone is attending this year’s Society for

Research (virtually) conference? Or the Society for Integrative Oncology conference (that’s both virtual and live in Baltimore)?
