Complications of Operations with AFIB
Just read a report stating Patients with preexisting atrial fibrillation (AF) have a 31% increased risk of death within 30 days after noncardiac surgery compared with matched patients without AF. I guess my hip operation being cancelled would have been easier to accept if this had been explained

Abdominal ultrasound
Hiya,Would just like people's views/experiences on if endo will be picked up on an ultrasound or the abdomen. I've had pelvic mri before which picked up endo everywhere and I'm awaiting surgery (endo, hysterectomy and bowel). I've not got abdomen pains so they've got me down for an ultrasound. I feel

Am I going the wrong way? ⬇️
Morning lovely people, my GP lowered my Thyroxin to 75mg from 100mg a month ago in order to get my TSH levels up, which have barely moved in ten years and were at 0.01 for ages and ages. This happened after I was prescribed T3 by a specialist just over ten years ago who has now even struck off. I can

Exercise after laparoscopy?
Had a laparoscopy 2 weeks ago to get rid of endo (including endomitrinoma), surgery went well & recovery is too. I'm not fully 100% yet but am so bored sitting around doing nothing! Does anybody have any recommendations for exercise post op that isn't too strenuous on the abs? Is swimming any good?

Opinions please - do I need to worry?
Sitting here feeling a bit concerned. I have been on pred since August 2020 and currently on 4mg. Apparently have adrenal insufficiency according to my rheumatologist in Norwich. My BP has been raised for a while but is normally stable somewhere between 138 -150 systolic and 72-76 diastolic. I agreed

I had a discectomy surgery in 2016. After the surgery, my back pain got worse and i started having bilateral tingling

Finally passed a kt/v test
Ok, so after 11 months, I finally passed my kt/v test with a score of 1.82, which my nurse said is passing for PD patients. Initially I was on 8 hours, 4 exchanges of 1800ml per night. When I failed the first test, then they moved me to 2000ml per exchange, then 10 hours of 5 exchanges of 2000ml, then

Vitamin B research webinar
Yesterday 15.11.23 there was such a very informative Glaucoma UK webinar. For anyone who missed it luckily it will be available on Glaucoma UK' You tube' in a few weeks. Prof. Guss Gazzard gave such a good, clear explanation of this disease, and included the pros and cons of his Vitamin B research

It was cancer…. But its now gone…
What a day. I had the dressing changed over the surgery site, and the surgeon appears. The test results are back… It was indeed a very rare cancer, and thankfully, it is now entirely removed. I feel like I've dodged a bullet… Everything has gone onto hold for today, but I’ve been lucky to realise

Statins/PMR
I was put on statins 4 weeks ago due to high cholesterol readings at GP surgery. A week ago, I started experiencing muscle pain across shoulders, front and back - fine if I am sitting still but achey if I move in certain ways. I have been rubbing in Uddermint cream every evening as it seems to get

Pharmacist blocking prescription
I just want to have a rant. For 30 years I have had the usual frustrations of doctors constantly trying to reduce my dose but nothing has compared to this latest scenario. I put in my usual repeat prescription request with plenty of time because pharmacy needs a week now. It was blocked so I phone the

Ovarian mass continued...
Hi all still in limbo. I got my results recently of MRI repeated in October last one was March. The mass has only increased marginally in size. I have repeated CEA and CA125 so should get those results tomorrow. Last time they said it was solid but this time they said it is not solid component. I don't
