Lymph node activity found during lobectomy
Hi all I gave a question that hopefully someone will be able to help with! My mum was told last week that during her right lower lobectomy the surgeon completed a "frozen section" which showed "activity" in the lymph nodes on her right side. I believe he did 3 samples. I know this means cancer in the

Understanding tests !
I have recently posted about not feeling good four weeks after my thyroid lobectomy and will see the specialist on the 23rd May for the pathology results. I have had bloods taken by my GP which have shown my TSH has risen from 0.72 prior to surgery to 3.55 (range 0.3-4.5) which I know could be indicative

Anyone having success with lung cancer, PDL1 positive, adenocarcinoma. No more treatment is available for my hubby...any advice? He is 44😢
Can anyone help?? Advise who to go to, where to turn, to try a treatment? When chemo, radio and 1 type of immunotherapy has not worked. Dr has said can not offer more... I find this to hard to deal with, my husband is only 44... he don't want to give up, he wants a chance...

Update after mums surgery
So my mum underwent a lobectomy and wedge resection 2 weeks ago. She has since suffered a pneumothorax on the right side due to a chest drain not functioning properly and also has an infection but is recovering. She spoke to her surgeon today and was told that the lymph nodes on her right side were showing

What do lung cancer patients want from our medical teams?
I recently had the opportunity to talk to a group of medical professionals about lung cancer survivorship issues, and a major focus of my talk was telling them what I think lung cancer patients want from our medical teams. I think that it is an important message to deliver because my medical team looks

Lung transplant!
It's been a while again since my last post. Health update is as follows oxygen while awake, I'm going to try O-fev, pulmonary rehab, and lose weight. I have begun the evaluation process for a lung transplant I think my biggest obstacle will be the weight loss. I've struggled with obesity my entire life

Cyramza/Taxotere
Yesterday was round 2 of Cyramza/Taxotere. All in all, side effects from round one were doable. Worst ones being mouth/tongue sores and major hair loss. Some fatigue but keeping up with life for which I am truly grateful. This is the second line treatment for me after progression on Alimta maintenance

Advice requested on Pseudomonas / Bronchiectasis
Hi all, This is my first visit to this site and I have come across some great advice already. I have had Bronchiectasis for a good few year now and can normally control infections with various different oral antibiotics. However for the last 4 / 5 weeks I have not been able to 'Shift it' and have felt

FDA Approves Keytruda Combo for Lung Cancer
The Food and Drug Administration has granted approval for a combination therapy with Keytruda (pembrolizumab) for patients with non–small cell lung cancer. This is the first time an immunotherapy has been approved for use with chemotherapy. Patients will not need to be tested for PD-L1 before starting

Gabapentin
Just wondered if everyone after a lobectomy takes gabapentin and how long they have stayed on them for. Was reading something that made it sound like you could be left with permanent nerve dam age and would need to just stay on them!

Lost my Mum to Lung Cancer in 2005, now my Dad has been diagnosed with the same
Feeling a little shell shocked this morning, my Dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer yesterday. We had suspected something was not right, and over the last few weeks he's been for various tests etc. Yesterday he received the results. His cancer is too advanced for Chemo. He was offered Radiotherapy, but
