Confused and down.
I've never experienced such
low
mood
before. My brain feels like fog. There's like a little circle in the middle of brain that can focus, and the rest is just a blurry surrounding. I used to gamble while I had mild depression , because I craved that dopamine release.

Staying low carb in a high carb world
I have had great success with going low carb, and sad to say I think my greatest ally in this has been coronavirus. I started December 2019, on what I first thought was going to be a diet (as in something I do for awhile and then stop) and allowed myself to break my own rules at social events. So, over

ALL THINGS LCHF
Hi everyone it's been a while since I posted in this group. Anyway, the last time I was here I had some questions about which method would be best for my weight loss journey and someone suggested trying the lchf plan. I've been trying the lchf plan for a few weeks now and I've had some positives like

I am relatively new to this site and think it is great! I read a couple of posts every day with great interest. I was diagnosed with PMR in August 2020 after a couple of months of excruciating pain in my shoulders. My GP pretty quickly suspected it and confirmed it with a short course of Pred (15 mg

EIB/Asthma not normal symptoms
Anybody out there who has been diagnosed with Exercise induced Asthma but does not have any of the normal symptoms ie wheezing, shortness of breath or tightness of chest. I just become strained inside and my peak flow goes down to about 450.

One step forward, two steps back
Well, after reducing prednisolone from 40 to 20mg, then having to go back to 25mg as my peak flow dropped, I’m now back on 30mg for at least one or two weeks! The gp has spoken to the respiratory team at the hospital and they say they wouldn’t do anything different at the moment ☹️. On top of that,

Bisoprolol versus pill in pocket!!!
Chest pain, breathlessness, so weak,
low
mood
, couch potato. To my mind it was as if the bisoprolol actually created heart symptoms by slowing the heart rate down so much. My dose is only 2.5 but I had an idea dosage would go up in time.

Anyone celebrating Burns Night?
25th of January is a traditional feast day in Scotland (Robert Burns' birthday), celebrated with haggis, tatties and neeps. And scotch. Haggis is a meaty treat, full of organ meats, so very nutritious. It also has oatmeal, so it's surprisingly high carb, 18g/100g which is more than the tatties (potatoes

To anyone who is having one of those bad days.
By night time, my
mood
was at an all time
low
. I was feeling nauseous, anxious and really depressed. I lacked much energy- I didn't shower, shave or brush my teeth. I didn't even bother to pee until I could hold it no longer. Part of me didn't want to live anymore.

C.O.P.D. and thyroid.
My mother died 10 years ago of C.O.P.D. I am certain she had a thyroid problem all her life but it was never addressed. I have asthma so it seems, my lung capacity isn't very good, checking the Peak Flow meter it is now much worse from the last measure a year ago. Wondering if I have the beginnings

Lung function test results from Sept as follows, but what exactly does it mean? I know the resps are ridiculously high had lots of ECG's, and constantly tachycardic hence 1 diagnosis of post covid syndrome, and breathing pattern disorder (BPD) which can be with asthma and a symptom of post covid.

Levothyroxine worsening OCD?
However, all my other old symptoms mentioned above as being helped by levothyroxine are returning, and I am feeling more tired, my hair has started falling out again, I am getting random allergy flares/hives, and I am suffering generalised anxiety and

8 puffs of Fostair 200/6 a day - really?
I’m in the sixth week of oral prednisolone for asthma - tapering down 5mg a week from 40mg starting dose. Annoyingly, when I got down to 20mg, my peak flow started to drop so the doctor told me to go back up to 25mg and also to double the Fostair to 8 puffs a day. Is that a normal dose - I thought 4

Why is my breathing suddenly so bad?
I have had asthma for years but although I admit I generally haven't taken my preventer regularly I have felt very comfortable. Suddenly my symptoms have become severe. No cough, just tight and unable to breathe easily. When it first started it was terrifying as my chest, diaphragm and ribs felt exhausted

PP and my mum
I’ve had
low
mood
and anxiety in the past. I’m a paramedic by trade so no stranger to mental health crisis. But equally I’m so scared and anxious for myself, partner and baby.

The University of Exeter are conducting new research into the benefits of 'Behavioural Activation' therapy, which has proven to be effective in treating
