I'm extremely
low
in
mood
, I have no energy, I'm really tired where I could fall asleep at my desk at work but struggling to sleep at night. I just really can't cope with the way I feel. It's like everyday is a struggle and there's no end in sight.

A new randomised study comparing diets
A new randomised study compares a low carbohydrate diet to the DASH diet. The conclusion: the low carb diet wins hands down. https://www.annfammed.org/content/21/3/256

respiratory medicine
I have an appointment at the hospital for respiratory medicine consultation. They have requested that I bring- peak flow diary, all medication and my asthma management plan. I have never had a peak flow diary or asthma management plan, should I have been given these by my doctor?

Thinking of our conversation on pred level and how to handle stressful moments to keep adrenal drama at bay....
So things for me and PMR and pred have not gone the way a lot of folks have. I read about when you take the pred in the beginning most have amazing relief then begin the journey of slowly reducing to find the next good dose. Then reading the symptom tea leaves of symptoms to make decisions on the next

Fatty Liver disease and Triglyceride levels
Is it common place for people with fatty liver disease to have elevated triglyceride levels? Would you expect triglyceride levels to correlate with a fibroscan CAP score? There's also a particular type of cholesterol associated with the liver called VLDL: Is this a test that an NHS GP can do or is

Advice re Statins
I started back on Rosuvastatin 40mg on alternative days and I'm suffering from nightmares,
low
mood
and mild anxiety, so not as bad as before, but still unpleasant. On this dose my Cholesterol results are on the upper end of normal.

Bloods are supposedly fine, but I suspect hypothyroidism
My resting heart rate is low already at 50bpm, but decreased to 47bpm, other symptoms reappeared (feeling constipated,
low
mood
). I’ve therefore just increased my dose to 50 mcg per day, for the last two days, does this sound ok?

Help & Advice Needed
Flu like symptoms, Hair loss, weight gain, extreme fatigue,
low
mood
and now since november time severe pain in my joints particularly my knees and wrists. I call them flare ups as these symptoms seem to come on around the time of my 'time of the month' and last for about 5-7 days.

Hashimotos and new onset kidney disease. Any links?
Hi, I have Hashimotos for over 10 years and PA for 4 managed by self injecting. In the last month due to quite sudden onset of fatigue, dizziness, and jitteriness with like an internal tremor (which was a key symptom before Low B12 was diagnosed) Saw Dr and got results yesterday and diagnosed as Stage

Thyroid removal
My daughter (aged 41) has been taking carbimozal for a number of years but continues to have poor sleep, palpitations and
low
mood
. A consulatant has told her that she should have her thyroid removed, but has also said tht this will lead to kidney problems and possibly failure in the long term.

Steroids
My friend is on 65mg of pred. steroids. I read that he needs a low salt and low fat diet. Also he needs to eat foods with potassium and he should take Vitamin D. Should he speak to his GP even though the steroids are being managed by his neurologist? Or should he buy over the counter Vitamin D etc?

Hashimotos double vision
I have been feeling tired, heavy,
low
mood
, brain fog, memory problems etc. I went to my optician for a routine check up 3 weeks ago and the letters on the chart were swimming around in a way I'd never seen before.

asthma making me nervous to do cardio exercise
hi all, so I’m on trimbow and rescue inhalers. I’m probably about 3-4 stone overweight for my age and height and I do smoke, but I am managing to cut down. I always feel like I struggle to breath but my peak flow is around 600 mark and my oxygen level is good. I do suffer anxiety though and my breathing

Looking for cycle buddies 👋🏻 day 7 downregging, cycle 6
This time the anxiety and
low
mood
hit quite a few days later than the last cycle so I suppose that’s a tiny silver lining!

Does peak flow increase in non asthmatics following ventolin?
Say someone has no classic symptoms of asthma (wheezing, breathlessness or coughing). Peak flow has always been low their whole life but has a small variation everyday (290- 330). Spirometry is normal (including above average fev1). No change in peak flow following a 5 week steroid inhaler trial. Can
