I thought I was just a social drinker, and I have a few drinks after work or when I was playing soldiers. I've been recently diagnosis with fibrosis stage three and I'm coming to terms with how to live with the situation. And over the years it is caught up with me and my body is telling me I've been

I've been diagnosed with fibrosis stage three ,and I am trying to get my head round the whole thing. I've been told I've got a fatty liver plus using alcohol, I didn't think I drunk that much and I've learnt there is a stigma if you get a liver disease you're an alcoholic. Questions I would

The effect of a B complex on raised liver enzymes with discomfort/pain
As mad as it sounds, every time I re start a B complex the liver pain returns I’ve had mildly raised liver enzymes with early morning liver discomfort, every single day for years but recently both have worsened and the discomfort became actual pain. However, on rising, the pain dissipates immediately

Gabapentin and liver resection
The help I have been given from this forum has been invaluable, I don't know where I would be without it. I have weaned myself off of Pramipexole and am now using Gabapentin, I don't think I have suffered anything like some of the other members. My question is, I need to up the dose, I am taking 1 x

Beta blockers
I'm 68, female with NASH/ Cirrhosis which is compensated. I have recently been prescribed 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol Fumarate (beta blocker) but I'm so anxious about taking it as my GP seemed unsure about any effect on my liver. I was wondering if any members take beta blockers with no ill effects? I'm also

Discomfort
Hi all. I'm getting discomfort in my upper abdomen. It's not pain exactly but it's uncomfortable. It's like IBS, which I suffer with, but can't take peppermint oil anymore. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal? It's not bloated like I had when I was diagnosed with cirrhosis. Apart from this

I have been diagnosed with NASH cirrhosis. When I had the fibroscan I had to lie on my left side and the scan was done on my back. Everything I have seen since is people lying on their back with their right arm stretched up. I have been wondering whether the scan was done properly. Has anyone else

Understand Your Blood Work
this is from a Canadian PBC Society PBC FACT SHEET (09/02/16) (may vary by lab) ALP Alkaline Phosphatase This enzyme occurs mainly in liver cells next to bile ducts, and in bone. The blood level is raised in PBC and is the main enzyme that is checked to see if you have a response to treatment
