New to this group & Newly Diagnosed with HCC.
I just wanted to say hello to the group. My bio describes what I have been going through. My Budd Chiari Syndrome diagnosis really helped understand my reason for suffering with cirrhosis and decompensated liver. I am not a drinker and have been thoroughly tested for genetic disorders. When I was 19

New to Live disease
Hey all I had an ultra sound scan of my kidneys as I have stage 4 CKD. On that scan they picked up issues with my liver. Long story, short. Had a CT scan. Followed up with an appointment with Gastroenterology Dr. As a result of that appointment I was booked in for blood work and a fibroscan. this

fatty liver
does anyone know the average size of a liver for a woman who’s 50. I’ve been told that mine is 12.5 which indicates fatty liver. 12 months ago my liver was normal. I stopped drinking and now it’s fatty. I’m so confused and having no support. Some advise say no dairy then others say it’s ok

Lifestyle health liver limbo
l was told almost 3 years ago that my liver had stabilised after a 9.8 fibro and literally to go away. Not heard anything since, so far I have had cirrhosis, cusp of cirrhosis, steatosis, stabilised on my notes. LFTs all normal, 115 over 74, 62 bpm, still overweight but no longer pre diabetic 40. Pooh

ELF score 8.3
I have had several elastography tests, the last one the same week as I took ELF test. It was 4.8kpa, but ELF test shows moderate fibrosis (8.3). Its seems ELF test is more accurate, because on this forum I have found several people who feel smth is wrong with their liver that have normal elastography

GFR levels post transplant
hi, anyone got any idea as to what their GFR level, or creatinine or urea levels in blood were 2 years onwards post Tx. I was shocked today to find my GFR is 32 and until now no one has ever uttered chronic liver disease Stage 3b. That can’t just happen over night and GFR results hasn’t been listed

4-th line of chemo
Hello brave ladies. I would appreciate your experience concerning chemo protocol: Gemzar+ Oxaliplatine. Unefortunately and despite the inhibitor PARP (NIraparib) taken from 7 weeks now, my marker goes up rapidly and I will be facing the 4-th round of chemo called "gemox". At the same time I've developped

Holiday insurance companies.....
Hi there, I'm in ireland here. I've compensated cirrhosis for the last four years. I've been very lucky that, I've very few symptoms, as hard going they are. But I cannot find travel insurance anywhere. Not even a high cost plan. Any UK companies anyone can recommend. We are just doing a 1.5 hr flight
