Long winded way to get to my question but I was wondering if anyone has taken Alpha
Lipoic
Acid
(saw this mentioned on NHS website as an alternative supplement) for these issues and if it helped at all?

Discovery of a signaling feedback circuit that defines interferon responses in myeloproliferative neoplasms- Published: 01 April 2022
This gets a little deep, but nonetheless may explain some things:
Abstract
Interferons (IFNs) are key initiators and effectors of the immune response against malignant cells and also directly inhibit tumor growth. IFNα is highly effective in the treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs

Taking R lipoic acid
I have been taking alpha
lipoic
acid
for 18 months now. For the last 10 years everytime I’ve been to the clinic twice per year at least my stone loading increased - either new stones or larger stones. Since I have been taking
lipoic
acid
my stones have remained the same size.

Fibroids and Norethisterone, bleeding and spotting
Hi all, I know you've each got enough to deal with, but I've been having a difficult few months and am after some advice. In February I was diagnosed with multiple fibroids. One of them is very large. I've had several ultrasounds and a hysteroscopy booked in for this week. My periods were very heavy

Haz58
Hello Haz58, I’m sorry you are having such a rotten time in sorting out the medications which you can tolerate. I could not take Azapriothine or Methotrexate but have settled reasonably happily with a daily routine of Bisoprolol, Levothyroxine, Amlodipine, Prednisolone, Ursodeoxycholic Acid, Losartan

Alendronic acid and raised Potassium levels
Hi I have been on Alendronic acid for 4 mths now. I have - 3 lumbar spinal osteoporosis but also have chronic kidney deficiency. My past two blood tests are showing raised 5.7 mmols/l and I’m wondering if it’s linked to my Alendronic acid?

Stopping Alendronic Acid
I've been taking Alendronic Acid along with pred (on the insistence of GPs and rheumy) for 2 years. At last I've managed to get a Dexa scan and they told me that my bones are good/normal and that there is no need to take the AA. Do I need to taper or can I just stop? Also wouldn't it make sense to do

How To Make Melatonin Lotion : A More Efficient Way Of Getting Melatonin Compared To Oral Melatonin And A Surprise Finding
A major problem I see with oral melatonin is the very poor bioavailability of oral melatonin, thought to be around 3% in humans as discussed here : https://bmcpharmacoltoxicol.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40360-016-0052-2#:~:text=Elimination%20half%2Dlives%20following%20oral,between%20the%20volunteers

Alendronic Acid
Hi I've had PMR for over 4 years now and am on 3mg pred. as the last time I managed to reduce and come off pred. I had a flare up . I also take Alendronic Acid. I've had toothache in a lower back molar on and off for the past year and the dentist says I either need root canal work or have it extracted

Rheumatologist referral
Hi everyone I was diagnosed in October 2021 with PMR. I followed the doctors ‘normal’ reduction plan at first. I was able to get down to 5 mg with reasonable ease although I was never 100% free from some pain and stiffness but didn’t affect my qol . I then found this site and started to follow advice

Laparoscopy made everything 1000x times worse, anyone else?
Hi all, I wondered if anyone else had, had a bad experience with their laparoscopy? I have suffered with endometriosis for 18 years ((I am 34 yes old)) (constantly misdiagnosed, gas lighted, not listened to, told it was normal period pains and to "just get on with it" - you know the usual story for

PMR flare advice needed
I have messed up with dealing with a recent flare and would love your advice on where to go from here. I was stuck at 11mg Prednisolone for many months and then one day I felt a change. From then I have been able to taper at 0.5mg every 3 weeks. All was good until I got to 8.5mg. I did my usual - add
