Better to Start Meds Earlier or Later
Is it most important to add a form of L Dopa to the brain in order to stop further neurodegeneration by dopamine's absence (which could mean taking Mucuna Pruriens or Sinemet) OR is it better to try not to take it too early to avoid the wear off and dyskinesias (with the Sinemet). Much Appreciation,

Levodopa, in a dose response pattern
The scores on the UPDRS in the three
levodopa
groups worsened during the two-week washout period, but these groups did not deteriorate to the level observed in the placebo group, and the group receiving the highest dose of
levodopa
had the best result (Figure 2 and Table 2).

Scientists at NTU Singapore and KAIST uncover a new mechanism that causes Parkinson’s disease
The lead author, Dr Jeongjin Kim said, “The therapeutic implications of this study for the treatment of Parkinsonian symptoms are profound. It may soon become possible to remedy movement disorders without using L-DOPA, a pre-cursor to dopamine.” http://bit.ly/2xdI7qV

Back From Mayo Clinic
He explained the disease, gave us hand outs and suggested a new way to give the Medicine (carbidopa-
levodopa
) . He explained that although he thinks this is probably PSP, he wants to leave no stone unturned.

Azilect and Anesthesia and Colonoscopies:
The culprit could well be that I avoid eating significant proteins during the day because they interfere so much w my
levodopa
uptake. My GP wanted to be sure it wasn't anything else so she referred me to a specialist for a colonoscopy., which I was more or less due for anyway.

Help with research... identifying the cause of orthostatic hypotension & autonomic dysfunction
I know there are a select number of decent researchers on this site.... those who read their fair share of medical papers and journal publications. I need some help with research...I simply don't have time to read everything on my own. The problem I'm interested in needs to be tackled because it very

A ruptured eardrum revealed Ataxia, Not PD
I had been diagnosed with PD and was beiing treated with L-DOPA for over a year when I accidently ruptured my left eardrum. (I was simply scratching my ear with a finger at the time.) The sudden and intense ear-pain left little doubt what had happened. My ear specialist repaired the damage on the

So yesterday I went to see my neurologist and ......
By 2.30 he was running 1hr late. So I sat in the waiting area and thought " why the hell am I here". Everyone else needed his help . I was just adding to his backlog. I wanted advice on reducing 6mg Rotigotine patches . (I reasonably believe that my exercise routine including running

Need Advise
And finally, I'm told that the carbidopa in the carbidopa-Levadopa prescription keeps the
levodopa
from breaking down before it has a chance to reach the blood brain barrier. They say that Macuna has nothing in it that does that and therefore is a waste of money. Any thoughts?

L Tyrosine may be helpful
My next attempt at relief is to try L Tyrosine is a non essential amino acid that is the precursor of the neurotransmitter, dopamine. Tyrosine is converted into Levodihydrophenylalanine (L-Dopa) and L-Dopa is subsequently and avidly converted into dopamine. More on the subject here:https://clinicaltrials.gov

reducing usage of MP (mucuna pruriens)
Is it the summer heat causing reduced need for
levodopa
or improvement because of the Silvestrov protocol? My changes to Silvestrov's protocol are few, for example, I also use some GABA-plex in the AM (contains NAC and L-tyrosine).

Peppers, tremor, KIKO1580
Actually some of the time I take the bite of a hot pepper before I ingest my
levodopa
and after biting into the pepper that alone helps a bit and I can put off the
levodopa
for quite awhile. I don't usually but I could.

Possible adverse reaction to a new generic brand of carbidopa/levodopa. Has anyone else experienced this?
My questions are: have any of you taken the Sun Pharma carbidopa/
levodopa
generic pill and, if so, did you have any adverse reaction to it? Also, does anyone have an opinion as to the best carbidopa/
levodopa
generic brand available in the U.S.? Thank you.
