The end of Parkinson's as we know it today. From the Levodopa era to the "transformative" information era.

The changes over time in the way the disease is viewed, the possible treatments and everything that makes up the world of Parkinson's (multinationals, neurologists, associations

Dehydroascorbic acid: Could orange juice oxidised in the fridge overnight be an important weapon against Parkinson's?
In addition, vitamin C protects the dopamine-producing areas from the oxidised remnants of the drug
levodopa
and the mitochondria, which generate a lot of oxidation in energy production. Without sufficient glutathione, this does not seem possible.

Should I get BOTOX shot in my feet for PD feet/toes curling?
I take 9-10 tablets of Carbidopa/
Levodopa
25/100 every day to manage, My Movement Disorders Specialist/Doctor suggested botox years ago but I have resisted due to my fear of botox circulating in my body. Has anyone tried this intervention?

PD’s Effect on Sex Life
Hypersexuality can be a side effect of dopamine agonists (and sometimes
levodopa
), so if it becomes an issue, a change of meds may be needed. Ask your doctor to see what your options are. For men with PD, erectile dysfunction is common.

How I went from 13 to 4 a day (Carbidopa 25/Levodopa 100)?
There are two good reasons to have an empty section of small intestines before and after taking
Levodopa
: 1) Gut microbes eat our medication…For most patients, only about 1 to 5 percent of the drug [
Levodopa
] actually reaches the brain… If less of the drug reaches the brain, patients are often given

Adjusting Carbidopa levodopa 25 to 100 mg
I was currently taking 1 + 1/2 Carbidopa
levodopa
in the morning. 1 Carbidopa
levodopa
in the afternoon in one pill in the evening. I began to notice these symptoms since the extra half of Carbidopa was added in the morning.

UM-Palmitoylethanolamide can slow down Parkinson's disease 2017
I know, it is only 19 days since I posted on this topic: https://healthunlocked.com/cure-parkinsons/posts/147737298/palmitoylethanolamide-luteolin-kind-of-interesting But sometimes I bury the lead. I normally stay away from eurekalert.org (I'm not sure why. I guess I thought it was some advertising site

INBRAIN PHARMA: direct injection of dopamine into the brain
Injecting dopamine directly into the brain using a small internal pump is what Lille researchers have succeeded in limiting the adverse effects of conventional drugs linked to Parkinson's disease. The InBrain Pharma team is pleased to see its therapeutic solution - backed by very promising initial safety

Oral berberine improves brain dopa/dopamine levels to ameliorate Parkinson’s disease by regulating gut microbiota
EDIT March 17, 2024:
Today somebody shared a link to a two year old post of mine about a report on Berberine being neurotoxic and taking it off of my stack. Within a few months I found other information on Berberine and, using my High School educated brain, decided that Berberine definitely needed

Meds
I had a successful kidney transplant on 2/11/21 however at that time I was also diagnosed with Parkinsonism and put on Carbidopa/
Levodopa
. I have struggled since then with agitation and jitters. Maybe on too many meds or the wrong ones.
