Proof of trauma's effects. low cortisol.
I saw my doctor yesterday. She gave me the results of a 24 hr cortisol saliva test. They showed my cortisol levels were very low. She said I had the profile of an individual under excessive stress over a life time. That means I have physical proof that I have had trauma induced lizard brain HPA axis

Do you think Chronic Fatigue Syndrome exists?
I'm interested to hear peoples views on CFS, and whether you think it exists - or whether you think it's a name given to a collection of issues not 'picked up' by our doctors (such as adrenal fatigue, hormone imbalances, thyroid problems, insulin resistance/pre diabetes and so on) I have actually been

Is there a link between dry eyes and b12 deficiency? If not, has anyone else had any atypical symptoms related to low b12?
After a year of having low b12 I have finally been given permission to get b12 injections! They start in about a week and now more than ever I have been thinking about the effect they will have on me. In case anyone is interested my b12 results have been: 163 (150-1000) 148 (150-1000) 223 (180-900) and

Cortisol causing havoc……… and I don't seem to be able to see my consultant, and my GP won't treat me as she wants me to see the consultant!
Hi, I am looking for some help from people who no doubt have suffered from low cortisol levels at some point. To keep my story short (you can read my previous posts for a more in depth view) I collapsed in May 2013. At first it was diagnosed as a lupus flare but then that was thrown out as my inflammation

Any ideas, people? After years of saying to anyone who would listen that I thought there was more going on than just being hypothyroid, I saw Dr O and he suggested Adrenal Fatigue. When my saliva test results came back from Genova instead of low cortisol its high - in fact about twice the top of

Hashi's & Adrenal Issues
Hi all, i'm really struggling at the minute. I have diagnosed Hashimotos and very low cortisol (tested by Genova) my question is how do you get the NHS to listen to you??? Everytime I have my thyroid meds raised I end up really ill & they end up dropping them back down again. Its awful and takes me months

Myxedema
Me again....complaining about my myxedema and WHY it is not shifting. I recently saw a friend and they commented "wow, you look so different". Not a good sign. I am on 270 mcg T3 only now for five months. I thought perhaps it was not being absorbed so I tested RT3 and free T3 and of course T3 is high
