Low heart rate
12 days ago my husband had a log hit him in the shin whilst splitting logs. At the time it came up like a tennis ball but other than that didn’t think too much of it. The swelling has gone down but he is getting pain in his leg. Not the leg they harvested from for his CABG x5). Eventually we decided

Don't want to go back on the pill/more surgeries! Deep infiltrating endo on bowel and uterine polyp removed recently for heavy bleeding.
Hello fellow endo warriors. I have a dilemma. I really don't want to go back on the bcp after being on it for 15 years as it has not been effective for my deep infiltrating endo on my bowel. My ultimate goal is to heal endo at the core using non-hormonal & surgery approach. Not just a bandaid solution

Has anyone here discovered they have endometriosis/and or adenomyosis at a later stage in life? Just found out at 50!
Right now I am sad and very angry. I have been under my local gynae and gastroenterology departments for over 20 years. That’s 20+ years of endless gastro tests for my ongoing digestive issues (I’ve had 2 colonoscopies, 2 gastroscopes, blood tests, fit tests, a scan for bile acid malabsorption). During

Interesting visit with Rheumy - fat not edema!
I had a very interesting visit at the Rheumy e few days ago. We discussed MtX that I have started, and I have very good effect now after 4½ month, so he will increase from 20 mg to 25, and start decreasing prednisolone. I am on 12,5 mg now so down to 10 mg, and then very slowly 1,25 mg every 6 weeks.

Failed Endometrial Ablation: Prostap
Hi folks, Here goes, I had an ablation done but I’ve never had endometriosis - long story - it’s failed and I’m due to have the Prostap injection. I’m worried about weight gain a developing hashimoto’s, I’m paralysed and osteoporosis is also a worry. I’m very high risk for hysterectomy surgery, so

hi guys. 10 days ago I had a laparotomy which is open abdominal surgery to remove a huge cyst and my left ovary/fallopian tube. The surgery went well with no complications and I was discharged 3 days later. On discharge I was very dizzy walking about for the first time which I get is normal. Since then

Does The Thyroid Affect Potassium Levels?
Hi! A bit of a random question but I’ve recently had some bloods taken by my GP surgery and my potassium levels have come back a little low (3.2 range 3.5-5.3) My TSH is 3.06 (range 0.27-4.20), which I think is a little too high although in range, so it got me thinking if there is a link at all between

How to get help when my results are in range?
Hello all I have posted before and nothing has changed much. I had some recent tests via my GP and the surgery is on my case as my cholesterol is quite high (7) and there are mutterings about statins which I have refused, I have had very bad hair loss in the past 2 years with no obvious cause. I have

How to wean off omeprazole
I’ve just had some blood tests done prior to some surgery and the results show there may be a problem with vitamin B12 levels. Hmm, I take 20mg omeprazole daily, in capsule form. Anyone any idea of the best way to come off this? I believe I’ll have to gradually wean off it?

Shingles Vaccine Update
Well I never!! I woke to a text message from our GP's surgery to say that I am eligible for a shingles vaccination with a link to book in with a nurse. My GP's obviously looked up the guidelines & though better of her decision! I'm just hoping that after the fight to get it I don't have any adverse

Severe back pain
Hi fellow Lupies, There have been one or two posts about back pain which I was keen to read as I've just, at last, after long standing back problems for around 20 years, had some real investigation done. However, my main problem, spondylolistheses, has not been mentioned. This is a condition where the

Endometriosis treatment NOT contraceptive pill or coil
I'm waiting to see a gynae. This one took me seriously when I tearfully told her my symptoms. The debilitating pain I endure during ovulation and my period is worse than childbirth (I've had a baby). The bleeding is so severe that I flood a night time pad every half an hour. GPs have always been very

Anyway, almost there with the final surge of activity trying to co-ordinate between the GP and Consultant. Just to share the correct information so that

Update on...Buprenorphine seems to be failing! Help!
Well, thank you for all the replies and the wisdom which has been offered. I saw my GP yesterday and explained the situation, told him of the solutions others had found (Lotte) and then asked him what his advice was. He thought about it and offered taking Sifrol as a first solution which I told him I'd

Surgery advice
Hi, I went to the hospital for my first gynaecology appointment on tuesday where i was told they were certain it’s Endometriosis. As you can imagine it was a mix bag of sadness but relief i didn’t fight with the doctors for the previous year for nothing. They recommended surgery which i’ve agreed

Aids post knee replacement
I'm due a total knee replacement next month. I already have an easy reach grabber, a leg raiser and a raised toilet seat from when I had a new hip last year. Are there other things that people have found helpful? Thanks 😊 x

Ups & downs again, but back on the up.
Hi everyone, been on that rollercoaster again. Son unfortunately vomited through his tracheotomy last Tuesday whilst his PEG feed was running. He seemed ok but come Thursday all his stats were alarmingly high requiring hospital admission. Diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia & started on strong IV antibiotics
