Good protein for CKD?
I was stage 3. Now stage 2. Have reduced gfr by almost eliminating protein. I am looking to put protein back in diet. Which are the easiest proteins for kidneys to handle. ( besides egg whites and tofu) ??

I am now approaching 21 months post transplant (MF) and feeling well. My last consultation and bloods was about 3 months ago. I've only had phone consultations since March last year and so I'm hoping my next appointment, due in June, will be face to face at the QE B'ham where I had the transplant. I'm

How much internal radiation can a guy take?
I have bone mets in both femures and Ischium. I have read about Radium 223 as well as Lu-177 and AC-225 and variations. Can I start taking these radio pharma drugs with abandon without worrying about accumulated radiation? Should I plunge into the genre asap or wait for the best and safest to be

Nobody Wants Cancer. But a ‘Big C’ Label Has Surprising Upsides.
« “The cancer designation did open up significant new funding opportunities, for example from the National Cancer Institute,” said Barbara Van Husen, board chair of the MPN Research Foundation. “It has definitely accelerated research.” There are more than 200 clinical trials underway for various MPNs

Update after BMB
It's been awhile since my first BMB, but have been recovering & processing the results. I had a hard time with sedation & took me some time to reset myself from that ordeal (getting sick, having two veins blow out with blood draws & iv). I lost weight & only weighed at 104 lbs that day! I was diagnosed

Update and questions I haven't posted on here for a while for many reasons (including the whole COVID thing) but as I'm still trying to get my head round stuff and had questions, I'm hoping there are some of you out there who can offer me some ideas/support. Liver Transplant
A question, and I know that everyone is different. How long does the pain, tightness and general uncomfortable feelings last after having a transplant? I know I’ve added to my malaise by developing an infection where my gallbladder used to be (removed during the transplant) but the pain is still bad

Should I be concerned?
I'm an 83 year old woman. I know that the GFR decreases with age, so maybe I'm within the normal range. In Oct last year, my Creatinine was 1.20 mg/dl and my GFR was 43. In Dec last year, the findings were Creatinine 1.08 mg/dl and the GFR was 48. My doctor says that shows CKD, but that at this point

Long wait time for referral
I recently had an ultrasound which showed a few cysts on my right ovary, one of which was haemorrhagic and they're suspecting endometriosis. I currently have the coil inserted, and am on yasmin also to try and reduce pain. Struggling massively with pain, taking tramadol daily and using hot water bottles

Epo for Renal Anaemia
Anyone had any experience of taking Epo for anaemia? My renal nurse wants me to have it but when she first mentioned it she said it carried a risk of stroke. Tried iron infusions but not effective. I have high blood pressure and a family history of strokes, naturally worried . On the other hand

COVID-19’ & Bronchiectasis
My daughter had a
kidney
transplant
17 years ago ,so apart from the fact it’s now failing & her immune system is compromised, three years ago she developed bronchiectasis. We just wondered how the virus affects the lungs .Does it cause severe inflammation which leads to pneumonia ?
