Exercise on PD
I'm new here & new to PD dialysis. I was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease when an infant. I am now 76 years old and count myself blessed to have avoided dialysis til now. My egfr went to 7 and , for the first time, I was really fatigued. My current question is how to regain my fitness. My PD nurse

Can PMR cause kidney problems?
Can PMR cause kidney disease? Blood tests are showing that my kidney function has been getting worse over the last two years. This started at the same time as my PMR. I am now at stage 3 kidney failure and am really worried about it. My GP says there is nothing that can be done. He also said

He was judge in downtown. He had premium health ins. That was lied that you have to wait 7 to 10 years on waiting list

Oygavyx Problem?
I have been on Orgavyx now for a few months and my MO discovered some irregularities with my EKG and bloodwork. I'm not sure the cause of the problem but Orgavyx literature warns against patients taking it with a long QT interval. My QT interval was 488ms (over 480 indicates problem) and my EKG showed

Hi Everyone, hope you're all keeping well. I wanted to ask of your opinions to see if this idea I have is worth pursuing as a product. It is essentially seeing if this is something to investigate further. My backstory is that I had a kidney transplant at 17. Upon recovery I was interested in playing

Kidney Disease Solution
For us CKD is a family affair. Out of nine children, five of us have this disease. Of those five one has had a kidney transplant and one is on dialysis. I am currently at stage 3 and I’m trying really hard to halt the progression and avoid being hooked onto a machine. To that end I bought a detailed

Distended stomach and flared ribs
Swollen stomach with upper abdominal pain came first and trouble having regular bowel movements. Would go days only to get out a few small slivers of poop. Only metamucil helps me go and its still not normal. Then came tremendous pressure in front of my ribs and eventually flared ribs. More flared

Moved around
My husband has a new dialysis manager that’s very young and hasn’t been a manager for long. She has the center in an uproar by moving people around daily each treatment and changing the doctor’s prescription of medications on the machine. It’s so frustrating to hear my husband talk about it and I feel

Follow up on my post Diflucan issue.
As I wrote in another post the Diflucan given to me for thrush seem to have reduced my adrenal function to the point where I needed to go back up to 10 mg for a few days. This was accompanied by very low blood sugar. So I tried to go down after about three days on 10 mg going down a milligram a day 9,8,7

Kidney stones and ibs
I believe there’s a link between kidney stones and ibs and other troubles in this area. Over the last 18 months I’ve had 6 treatments of lithotripsy. Finally my last scan said they were clear. Hooray I thought, it was short lived as the rest of the letter informs me, “ we have noticed a little deterioration

Let’s compare notes re: Covid vaccine
Hi all, just wanted to compare notes regarding the Covid vaccine. I’ve seen a lot of discussions but in addition to the need for advocating, I’m curious what you are being told from your transplant teams. I asked a million questions in my appointment today and feel hopeless leaving with no answers.

Prednisone dosage
Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me the lowest dose of prednisone that they are on? My doctor said we could reduce it but she left to run a major kidney transplant program. My new nephrologist said nope without hearing me out or giving any info. (he is not an experienced nephrologist imo). Just curious

Parathyroid Adenoma
Does anyone here have any experience with this? During an ultrasound of my thyroid an incidental finding of a small lesion was found which the doc says suggests parathyroid adenoma. My calcium levels were slightly low and then normal on my recent bloods.
