Anaemia after TAVI
My ferritin and Vitamin B12 and D levels were OK, so I'm not
iron
-deficient. My GP has contacted the local hospital to see what further tests might be arranged.

Targinact
I have had RLS for over 20 years and have tried most medications, the latest being Pregabalin, which was good but is now not working so well. I therefore asked my GP if I could try Targinact as I read this is now licensed for RLS. He has agreed and I just need to taper Pregabalin. Can anyone

Digoxin side effects or post covid
I just had a blood check to find that in the last few months my
iron
levels have dropped quite a bit. Now I have read that digoxin can affect
iron
levels and so can post covid . I have a fairly mild infection about 8 weeks ago. I also understand low
iron
can actually cause a fib?

hi I have been desperate for sleep but my RLS has been so bad that I’ve found it impossible I managed to get a GP appointment and told her my story and background and although she was sympathetic said the RLS I’d very difficult to control I told her I had no desire to go back on to a DA and my problems

Advice on new results please in preparation for completing e-consult
The advisory from medichecks was about my ferritin level, they said it is below the NICE recommendation so seems I now need
iron
supplement too, but will take advice from GP, if I ever get to speak to or see one, before getting anything over the counter.

Thrombocytosis…..ET? UPDATE
I asked for
Iron
studies to be done as my Specialist forgot to do them (?!!), I had low Ferritin but not Anemia. I’ve been on
iron
supplements for
iron
deficiency without anemia for 3 months, my Ferritin levels are improving but platelets are still at 517 so maybe low Ferritin is not the cause….

The doctor at Medichecks has wrote that: “In the presence of a raised CRP (inflammatory marker), the ferritin(meant to reflect
iron
stores) reading isn't always accurate. It can appear higher than your
iron
store level really is.

The pre op nurse recorded that I had
iron
deficiency so none of this was picked up. I’m ranting because this was clearly explained by me and should have been avoided.

b12 is low and leg pain
I also have low
iron
which was at level 9 bf/ml which I’m taking tablets for. I feel like ever since my diagnoses my health has worsened, my legs are getting pins and needles, pain, cramps, I’ve had my first 3 round of injections and my symptoms are getting worse.

Endometrioma but without having endometriosis??
His sec called me and said he wasn't worried and also anaemic (as usual even though on
iron
). I have never, with all my sections, had anyone mention if Endometriosis was present or any scans while pregnant or in the last two. I have read that you can't have Endometrioma without endo !

Vit B and Ferritin levels
So had my FBC, Vit B and "
iron
" tests yesterday. Turns out they only tested Ferritin for
iron
, but I've got a full anaemia panel with MMH to complete this morning for a full picture.

Should my niece be treated for pernicious aneamia or at least b12 deficiency please
My neice had vitamin b12 result of 265 ( range is 211 to 911) and
iron
was low at the time . She was given
iron
tablets on prescription at time . Her ferritin was 14 (10 to 291 ) . HB was 130 (115 to 165 ) . I know they are in range but was thinking is she heading for pernicious anaemia .
