My plan is to increase my
iron
intake by using
Iron
Bisglycinate (which I hope will avoid constipation). The question is what is the correct dose.

His initial ferritin level was 3, after 8 months of daily

NHS 'guidelines' preventing my GP prescribing for hypothyroidism - help please!
was adamant that my thyroid was functioning correctly and said unable to prescribe due to NHS parameters but would test my thyroid and
iron
and liver etc in 3 months as it would be too dangerous to begin medication in any case.

Continued success with Vitamin B1
I still take a multivitamin, a vitamin d and a magnesium tablet on a morning as well as 64mg of
iron
on an evening before bed. I did also sometimes use a magnesium spray but have not needed to for a good month or so.

Where can I get my mineral levels tested?
I test bloods, including vitamins and
iron
, regularly. But I have no idea what my zinc and magnesium etc. levels are. Is there a home test kit I can use that doesn't cost the earth?

GP knew less than I did about RLS :’-(
She seemed to think
iron
wouldn’t help as I’m not anemic. I’m going to buy
iron
supplements anyway and paracetamol and codeine tablets as it’s all getting too much. She’s referring me to a neurologist but that’ll take months. I feel so disappointed. She apologised for not knowing much about it.

Your thyroid and iron deficiency stories, please
Surely just a coincidence that it’s women who experience lower
iron
levels, as a rule. Surely). MCHC, transferrin, serum
iron
etc all out of whack, too. The alarming things are: a) I can’t take oral
iron
supplements at all.

The other B vitamins
So far my daughter and I have tested B12, Folate, Vit D,
Iron
Panel, Thyroid antibodies, CRP. Is this something people here generally do as a belt and braces approach when the picture is very unclear and you need to rule stuff out?

Advice on below range TSH, low ferritin, poor absorption and current dosage
TSH *0.03 (0.55-4.78) FT3 2.81 (2.30-4.20) FT4 1.10 (0.89-1.76) FERRITIN 30 (10-291)
IRON
92 (50-170) TRANSFERRIN 256 (250-380) My ferritin is still low. I am taking
iron
supplement and trying to eat more
iron
rich diet, but I suspect the gastritis is reducing absorption?

Question about Ferritin level of 14.
I haven't been here for a few week's because I have been in and out of hospital but in between my RLS has got worse. 2 Dr.s at my Surgery prescribed
Iron
but I couldn't take the liquid because it has cherries and I'm allergic to cherries and then Ferrous Fumarate but they made my stomach pains worse.

Included in the effects of Hydroxycarbamide (many but not significant) I am borderline or somewhat anaemic and my GP locum suggested
iron
supplements but I believe that I have heard that tinkering with
iron
can cause problems so I tried asking the Haematologist if that was ok?

what vitamins to take with hashimotos please?
I’ve been taking a multivitamin and magnesium, sometimes extra
iron
(my ferritin is generally low at 30-40) but I think it’s been said here not to take multivitamins? Trying to reduce the amount of pills I have to pop!

What ? and Watt !! 😜
In order for the special processes to occur, we need to have enough co-factors like vitamin B12, vitamin B1 (thiamine) B2, folate and
iron
. If those are low then we cannot get enough oxygen into our system and our power houses do not work effectively. So, our bodies cannot work properly.

Advice on my array of recommended supplements (per endocrinologist”s recommendations)
Since I have anemia (macrocytic,
iron
and pernicious) plus gastrointestinal problems, plus a history of cancer, I wanted to see someone who could help identify how much each of these are the cause of my fatigue, brain fog , peripheral neuropathy etc., In the past it’s felt like plugging a leak in a pipe
