Hi I forgot to introduce myself so am editing this, sorry if you have already read it! I am 65 and retired. I wrote a little while back listing my symptoms and someone (I think the administrator?) suggested I come back with results of private blood tests I was having done. Well the results are back

Hi I think this is my first post on the fibroaction site though I have dipped into it once or twice to answer other people's posts. I'm a 65 year old woman who was diagnosed with fibro 5 years ago. I have also been diagnosed with hypermobility syndrome, osteoarthritis in C3/4 and C5/6/7 of my spine

"Pain in the butt" and thighs??
Hi. PMRandRa has asked me to open this thread as it seems we have one thing in common (probably have more) but we both suffer with pain in the glutes and thighs. Sometimes it was as though I had done an hour of squats with heavy dumbbells.... not my scene! As soon as I started on 15mg pred (Nov) all

How did you tolerate the pneumococcus vaccine?
Immunology has reported I have low antibodies to pneumococcus and instructed me to have the pneumovax vaccine, so am booked to do so on Saturday at my surgery. In 4 weeks, immunology will test to see if I've made a response to the vaccine. last time I had the flu vaccine I didn't tolerate it v well

Do We Miss England...Nope.
Someone asked me the other day if there was anything I really missed about living in England...had to think for a while actually. Pick Your Own Strawberries I said...she looked at me and I had to explain that you can go into fields of strawberries and fill up your basket for a nominal amount of money

Cause of PMR
I am trying to find a common denominator/s for PMR and it's buddy GCA. I have noticed on this lovely forum alone that many people have been diagnosed in late 2014 and I am wondering how many of you had the flu jab then or thereabouts? I have had the flu jab with no effects except for a sore patch on

The irony of a diagnosis
It is strange but I was quite relieved to hear I was positive. I will tell you why: About 5 years ago, I was working in social care and was asked to do a health check to work on the hospital ward. I did a mantoux screening test for tuberculosis and I was meant to have a swelling but I did not, so the

Answered my own question RE jabs
I,ve found the website that stressed certain jabs are required for cirrhosis of the liver, NOT, fatty liver and other recoverable liver conditions which i think is where the ambiguity of advice has come from. The below excerpt is from the British Liver trust official website:- Looking after yourself

A ray of hope for type 1 diabetes. BCG vaccination could prove to be a saviour.
A phase 2 clinical trial testing the ability of BCG vaccine to reverse advanced type 1 diabetes has received approval from FDA. The five year human trial will investigate whether BCG vaccination can clinically improve type 1 diabetes between 18 and 60 years of age who have small but still detectable
