neurological symptoms
Hi I found out today I have Hughes syndrome after having 3 different elevated IgM anticardiolipin antibodies. The levels were 22, 19 and 14 so I think I'm of pretty low level. However I've been really ill all year starting with daily migraines for 3 months then having a possible transverse myelitis

Newbie
In June he had Kawazaki disease which is treated with intravenous
immunoglobulin
which has given us the best 6 months with his asthma yet, but now the effects of this have worn off and I feel we are back to being uncontrolled.

Severe asthma - Unconventional Treatment
Hi I have had severe asthma since infancy, but the past 1.5 years it has gotten much worse. I am on every asthma medication available, including at least 40 mg of prednisone a day, xolair, and ivig. my docs are now suggesting trying more aggresive treatments, as my pft's are slowly drifting down and

Asthma injection
It specifically targets the antibody
immunoglobulin
E (IgE), which is involved in the allergic process in asthma. In trials involving 4,300 patients, the medicine has been shown to reduce asthma attacks and hospitalisations, and to help improve lung function and quality of life.

IV Immunoglobulin - any advice
Hi everyone, and a happy Easter to all hope you are enjoying the holidays. As title suggests I am after any advice from anyone who has had IVIG. My son had his first dose over last weekend - 2 lots of 16 hour infusions. He tolerated it well and apart from a sore cannula site he left hospital on Monday

Portacath
Due to having extremely rubbish veins and needing iv
immunoglobulin
every 3 weeks, I was told yesterday to consider having a portacath. I know all about them as I am a paediatric nurse on a CF ward, am just after personal opinions of anyone who has one.

I keep getting pneumonia
Now, my resp consultant is checking my
immunoglobulin
levels to see if, for some reason, my immunity is suppressed. (I have constant, intractable oral thrush which does not respond to treatment, which may point to immuno-suppression). Has anyone else experienced this?

s/c immunoglobulin
Before i went on s/c bricanyl my docs at the brompton started me on iv
immunoglobulin
once a month as i had irregularites with my immune system. Yesterday i went to GOSH (im 15) and they will re check my blood but the idea of going on s/c immuno came up as well as bricanyl.

Interesting visit to the respiratory clinic
One of the things he is going to investigate is my
immunoglobulin
levels (to assess how good my immune function is). He also suggested that I may have developed bronchiectasis as a result of frequent infections.
