recently diagnosed with CLL
In Jan 2015 I went to the hospital with a platelet count of 1,000. The doctor told me I had ITP and treated me for 10 months with steroids, IVIG, and Nplate shots. After 3 more hospitalizations, I changed doctors in November. The new doc started me on Rituxan, continued the weekly Nplate, and scheduled

Waiting for biopsy results...so many questions
I'm so glad to find this board...everything I read on the internet about PBC takes my breath away. Here's my story: I am immune deficient - I have CVID, Common Variable Immune Deficiency. I do immune replacement therapy every week via subcutaneous infusion. My lft's have been abnormal for months and

Ivig
Has anyone found that sometimes after an IVIG they feel ok and other times not. Usually I feel ok, but this last one I feel nauseous and extremely tired.

colds and coughs
My husband and I both had head colds last week. His had settled in his chest with a fearsome cough, low grade fever and general misery. We have been to "urgent care" last Sunday and had a regularly scheduled visit with his oncologist today. Bloods are unremarkable and both doctors think it is viral

Lyme disease
Wow this has been quite the experience. So I just found out from an early blood test in July 2015 that i had several reactive bands from a Lyme IgM and Igg western blot, but never tested definitively positive for Lyme according to the U.S. standards. I am now taking doxycycline for 3 days (400mg/day)

Virus and Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia (FM) is characterized by chronic widespread pain lasting for a minimum of three months, and pain at mechanical pressure in at least 11 of the 18 tender points. The cause of fibromyalgia is unknown. Several hypotheses have been developed including "central sensitization". This theory proposes

Results- not what I hoped for
My results came in and the tests included Beta IgG, IgM, and IgA, Phos/Serine, and Cardiolipin. Each result shows only < a number, with that number being whatever the standard is for negative. I wasn't given any actual numbers. This frustrates me because my sister was tested for PCOS after having all

My life with CLL
I have also commenced a programme of
Immunoglobulin
transfusions, to address the persistent chest infections as an alternative to antibiotics. I am exceedingly happy with the care I have received from my local hospital. I am also fortunate to have a very supportive wife and family.

Oral Fungus Treatment
I'm a 29 male and I've been experiencing a white coating on the sides of my tongue and cheek for several years now. Can't remember how I got it. It gets stronger or weaker from time to time. In the morning, my tongue will be slightly whiter than usual. I have to brush heavily to get it to clear up. However

Anti-Tau Antibody Reverses Cognitive and Motor Deficits in Animal Model
"[Rakez Kayed, PhD] and colleagues injected seven-month-old mice overexpressing the mutated alpha-synuclein with either a tau oligomer-specific antibody (TOMA), an antibody targeting all forms of tau, or a control (
immunoglobulin

Ivig
So I had my last IVIG on sept.25th. 2 days prior to that I started on 30 mg prednisone. I'm slowly weening off. My count went up to 125 then slowly decreased. As of October 6 I was down to 10 mg pred. My count went down to 17. I go for blood tests weekly. My next count was 21 then 57. Still on 10 mg
