Codeine or ibuprofen
I have Stills Disease RA diagnosed aged 17 now nearly 60, have been off all meds except for pain relief since mid 20s. Age, menopause, disease progression or additional RA have made some bad days intolerable now. Other symptoms of Stills and associated AI diseases like Interstitial Cystitis and Lichen

Joint pain with CLL?
Been taking
Ibuprofen
and that seems to help. Anyone else experience this? This was a sudden flare up andI never had on before. Am 71 and have been in reasonable health. Any input would be helpful.

New Diet Plan is Helping
In June I took one
ibuprofen
when needed but I haven’t called in sick to work since April and no A and E trips. I know I still have a long way to go but thought I’d just put it out there.

Have an appointment in 2 weeks with the hospital for a consultation about having a colonoscopy, I tried buscopan,
ibuprofen
to no avail and ended up having a co-codamol which did take the edge off the pain… Does anyone have any hints tips ?

Medication not working
Oddly, I have a headache this morning and try took some
Ibuprofen
for this. It didn’t touch the headache so seemingly other drugs aren’t working either? I suspect that this is pointing to a poor gut absorption issue, but how I combat this, I’m unsure. Any ideas? 🤔 . Thanks

Treatment update... Back on the chemo
Having to take a few
ibuprofen
per day to help with that. Also they suggested Claritin as an off label drug to help with the pain from the Neulasta... That seems to work and I have seasonal allergies anyway so that's a twofer. Must be Claritin, not benedril or any other.

Tylenol vs Ibuprofen
I’m having a difficult time with Tylenol vs
Ibuprofen
. Tylenol just doesn’t help very much, where as
ibuprofen
really helps so much better. With my PBC, is it much better to always stick with Tylenol for aches and pains, or can I take
ibuprofen
? Thank you for the help!!!

Ankylosing spondylitis? What happens next?
I’ve tried
ibuprofen
, naproxen and etoricoxib. Nothing really helps. When I spoke to nurse recently she said I needed to start on AS treatment plan. I was originally suspected to have AS back in 2014 due to SI inflammation on scans. But Dr disagreed and diagnosed lupus.

What if it’s not Endo?!
Paracetamol and
ibuprofen
didn’t help at all. I was referred to a gynae over 2 years ago, but I never felt listened to.

Ibuprofen vs Acetaminophen
There are sites that warn against
ibuprofen
with a PBC diagnosis (stage 0-1) and then there is the fact that
ibuprofen
does not get processed by the liver but acetaminophen does. What advice have you been given for the occasional emergency use of NSAIDS? Thanks Susanne

Ibuprofen
is all I need for occasional pains. However I am not in the same physical state as before PMR.

No news yet on next steps
Unfortunately the pain in my right shoulder blade has worsened and I was advised by one of the lung nurses to try paracetamol 4 times a day and intersperse with
ibuprofen
3 times.

Surgery yesterday
They’ve prescribed me codeine and told me to take paracetamol and
ibuprofen
too when needed. What can I do to help relieve the pain from the bloating? All my gynaecologist has told me is that I have a lot of endometriosis, what does that even mean?

Non drowsy pain medication?
I've only tried
ibuprofen
, paracetemol, naproxen, codeine and co-codamol (over the counter strength) for pain relief and co-codamol works best to take the edge off. Unfortunately it makes me feel like a zombie (!)
