A little bit down
Most people need
hypnotherapy
to get through it. I have not been cured by any means, but I am no longer as bad as I was. My eyes have got worse again. I have barely any decent vision left thanks to the constant moving, twitching and de-focusing going on in my eyes.

I am totally wiped out.
I had my second session of hydrotherapy today. I don't think the physiotherapist understood what fibromyalgia is. It was evident when he said, And which part of your body hurts. I worked out the whole body. Now I am suffering

Well - my hospital appointment yesterday was very tiring but also drew a line under the rest of my life. Got the head honcho who told me everything they had looked at and that appart from the fact that I was slightly hypertensive and was walking like a cripple (he has a very appropriate sense

Being given the run around with diagnosis and other gripes
Finally at age 46 I am beginning to make sense of the endless health problems I have had since childhood, and in particular teenage years. However from one medic to another with one complaint thrown in, (forced upon us by the local PCT so it could defend itself), has made my life for myself and family

Some thoughts on flares
I've often been asked over the years what a flare is. Well, here is my definition: flare: a significant increase in symptoms above what is normal for you A flare can be different for anyone. For a start, what is normal for you will not be the same as what is normal for the next

Hypnosis in asthma treatment
I am a health psychologist in training studying the use of hypnosis in asthma for my doctorate. My GP put me on to hypnosis and autogenic training to help my own asthma control, so I know about its benefits on a personal basis. Is anyone aware of any studies being done with hypnosis or relaxation with

Fear of flying.......
I've tried
hypnotherapy
in the past to conquer the fear but it hasn't helped, so if anyone has any suggestions of warmer climates (it needs to be at least 25 degrees!)

Silly Billy
Yup, that's me. Old clever clogs (my mum used to call me that - don;t know why??). I was fine this morning, woke quite early after a relatively good night's sleep (this is becoming a good habit lately - well two nights on the trot - not too bad). Mouth felt the inside of a wrestlers jockstrap

Pain management and hypnosis - have you tried it?
Hi I used to practice self hypnosis and I've started again today after a long gap of several years. It's good for reducing muscle spasm and makes me feel less anxious and a bit happier. There seems to be lots of evidence about the use of hypnosis and pain management, but hypnosis is not used much
