adrenal fatigue and how to treat it
I was on Medrol (4-6 mg daily) for four years, after being diagnosed with adrenal fatigue by a Hertoghe doctor in Belgium. I weaned off it more or less by mistake; one day, about two months ago, I was going to the lab, and was not supposed to take any meds before that, and then I just decided to wait

Discharged from hospital after 2.5 weeks 3 days in Intensive care.
I'm new to this forum. I thought I would join after I have just been discharged last night from a pretty traumatic hospital admission. I have been asthmatic since age of 13 but have had several years where it had disappeared. Just before Easter my husband had a flu type illness and he really was very

Help with Blue Horizon blood test results
Hello, I have just received some blood test results and would be extremely appreciative if anyone could help me with interpreting them. I take 3 grains of Armour daily plus medication for Addison's disease. My limited understanding of my thyroid results would be that they are a little on the low side

~Glory be - low then high blood pressure whilst tapering?
Any experiences on the following - much appreciated in advance. Reducing hydrocortisone a fraction further as requested by Rheumy from 15mg (equivalent to 3 mg Pred) down to 12.50mg Hydrocort which = 2.5 Pred. This is my third attempt. Less than 2 days into taper breathlessness appeared again (a feature

Retinoic acid receptor–related orphan receptor γ (ROR-γ) & the Androgen Receptor (AR)
New study below [1]. Don't be put off by the title. When I decided to methodically go through the PubMed PCa literature 12 years ago, I began with vitamins. I can tell you that Vitamin A is the worst starting point. Expecting a single receptor for retinol. I discovered that there was a retinoic

Hi, I have m.e/cfs - please don't tell me I don't it's just insulting - and have experimented with all sorts of different ways of treating my hypothyroidism, low cortisol and m.e. At the moment I have found 85mcgs T3 plus one quarter of a grain of NDT (last thing at night helps with sleep) is the best

take NDT at night?
Has anyone ever tried taking NDT at night, and found that it had a positive impact on your well-being...? I am asking after reading the other night that people suffering from adrenal sufficiency and taking Medrol had better take it at bedtime, so that they wake up with ideal cortisol level (due to Medrol's

~Should our meds be taken at same time each day?~
Have returned (last week) from a mercy dash to Queensland, Australia of 3 busy days and extreme heat. There was a time difference of 3 hours between NZ & Qld, Auz. I did try hard to stick to what I thought would be similar timing to that of my home routine as best as possible under the circumstances

total confusion
So I went to see a so called top doctor in Belgium the other day, supposedly one of the best. Before going there, I had extensive labs done (blood and 24 h urine). I feel pretty well overall, work full-time, lead a normal life...I feel tired from time to time, but who doesn't...?! Anyway, it seems

Hi all, I had GPA for 11 years now and have been on Mycophenolate and 5mg of Prednisolone for some years now. At clinic yesterday they want to stop my Prednisolone . I am to have a blood test to see if my body is producing its own. If so it will just be stopped without reducing it. If not then they

Zytiga and Xtandi .... what do you think about this?
Diagnosed in ‘2008 at the age of 50. Because it was in his lymph node, he went with Casodex (30 days), Lupron (2 years) and radiation (40 external beam). In ‘2012 he did Taxotere when his PSA had a one month doubling rate. Planned to do 6 months, but was stopped at four months with heavy side effects

Does anyone take hydrocortisone?
Hey guys, sorry to ask two questions in one day. But I have incredibly low cortisol, and mild hypothyroidism. I want to start on a thyroid supplement, but am terrified of making my adrenal situation worse (it's really, really critical. I can barely function and don't want to end up in Addison's territory
