Non small cell carcinoma in lung.
I have recently been diagnosed with non small cell carcinoma of the lung by the Royal Brompton. They sent a letter to my GP requesting an urgent 2 week referral to local oncology, GP surgery said they hadn't received the part of the letter asking for the referral. I emailed them a copy as they requested

I had a colonoscopy 6 months ago . All was clear , no cancer no ibd. Since I’ve had in and off abdominal pain and inflammation . I just been diagnosed with a parasite of the intestine as well. I have. Signoidoscopy tomorrow, could I still have Crohn’s despite nothing was found 6 months ago? Or could

Back Pain after Chemo?
My wife recently started IV Carboplatin and she’s experienced excruciating lower back and hip pain for the first few days after her treatment (AUC6 dosing, once every 3 weeks). She has numerous pelvic metastases as well as chronic stenosis in her lower back. We’re struggling to try to determine whether

Remedies for low stomach acid
Hello. This is a follow up on a previous question. I did the baking soda test this morning to see if I had low stomach acid. I didn't belch at all so I guess that could suggest that I'm low !! I thought I would try some Betaine HCI with pepsin as that is quite often recommended. I asked my naturopath

positive occult blood test but no parasites ?
I'm a mid-sixties female with R.A. Constipated until a year ago. Oftentimes in the last year (but not always) my poop looked well-formed but had something that looked like a string coming out the end, up to an inch long. My bowel habits changed a lot a few months ago/much less constipated. A couple

Thyroidectomy in Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire?
Is there anyone on here who has had a partial or full thyroidectomy in Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire who would be happy to share their experience, good or bad, and provide any tips/advice? Having had nodules for a number of years, one of mine increased in size in Jan 22. It has recently been categorised

Swollen painful hand
I've had PMR for 2 years. Was started on 40 mg of prednisone. I have slowly gotten down to 13 mg. Recently I tapered to 12 mg but have not felt very well & suddenly my right hand fingers are swollen & very painful. This has never happened before. Is this some kind of flare?

Omeprazole and Gastroscopy
I have been having digestive issues since May, lots of indigestion, acid reflux, belching etc. It comes and goes, sometimes good, sometime not, I would say I feel unwell 50% of the time. I was referred to a gastroenterologist. I had a colonoscopy last year and all was clear. Gastro decided

Where does the blood come from?
Hi, I have endometriosis and with it I get bowel symptoms. The most prevalent is pain but I also get cyclical rectal bleeding. I had a colonoscopy and it was all clear they took some biopsies but results i probably wont get this year. I know this is common with endometriosis, but where does the blood

Antidepressant question
I am currently on 2.5 mg Lexapro. Its great and takes the edge off. However, I did have some panic attacks and my doc mentioned 5 mg might be a better standard low dose. I want to take 5 mg but I am scared of serotonin syndrome or any side effects with increasing dose. Any advise? I have taken lexapro

Atrophic Gastritis
Hi everyone, I have deen trying slippery elm to no avail for general stomach discomfort. I sometimes feel as if I have a 'fist' moving around in my stomach. The 'fist'feeling then just stays perfectly still, I then feel like I need to stretch to accomodate the 'fist' and then it feels a little better

Iron blood test - definitive list
I got my recent blood test back, haven’t yet posted all results to my profile, but my ferritin was rock bottom (7 out of 7-271 range) so I’m going to get a full iron test before I share all the numbers here and decide my next med change. What should I ask for: Iron Total iron-binding capacity (TIBC

Complementary therapies?
I have just come to the end of the chemo radiation and seemingly I now wait about three months before having a PET scan and a fibroscopy to see how effective the treatment has been and what might be the next steps. Just for my own sense of well being I am thinking about trying some complementary therapies
