Total knee replacement
Hi and good sunny morning to you all. 6 weeks ago I had a total knee replacement should have been a 3 day stay but I was in hospital for 3 weeks. I developed phumonia and a PE. I'm struggling to recover on top of that I've had no RA drugs for about 10 weeks and won't be allowed back on my biologic drug

HRT
Hi can anyone give me any advice please , I’m waitng to start HRT because I’m going through horrendous peri menopause symptoms but need to speak to my haematologist first . Is it safe to have hormone patches or spray when you have a MPN ( unclassified ) because of risk of clotting ? praying it’s ok

Tired - Low T4 or menopause?
Dear lovely community, My latest blood test results are attached. I’m 55yrs and I’m also on HRT. In Sept 21 I reduced my T3 from 17mcg a day to 15mcg a day (100mcg x T4 stayed same) and these are my latest test results - see attachment. At 7am I took my daily 100mcg x T4 together with 10mcg x T3

Hip replacement
Hi everyone, my aunty went into hospital last night with an awful pain in her leg and hip area. X-ray showed she’s broken her hip and needs surgery tomorrow. Does anybody have any idea what that is about and are there different kinds? The saddest thing is her grandson’s getting married next weekend 🙈

Recovery after Mitral Valve Replacement
A week since discharged from hospital after MVR. Healing well in general. 14 days since the actual operation. For example my breathing is much better and I can even sleep on my back. Although i hear the ticking sound of the mechanical valve it stopped bothering me after the first day. INR levels playing

I’m 44, do I need HRT? Please help!
My periods stopped all of a sudden when I was 43 back in September 2020. They came back in July 2021 for 3 months. Although the first two were only 22 days apart. Then they stopped again in September 2021. I’ve had awful sleep issues, extreme hair loss, extremely dry skin, aches and pains. Brain fog

Post Covid flare up and doctors!
Has anyone had Covid and been left with a big flare up of PMR pain? I had the antivirals which stopped me from getting worse and am now testing negative. But I am in so much (scary) pain with my hips and lower back - been making me yell out when I move. I was on 5 mg before getting Covid but had to

Poor nail quality
Does anyone else have extremely poor nail quality? My nails are in a terrible condition..if they grow 1 mm, they split and break. They look like I do 15 hours of manual labour a day. I have considered acrylic nails but think that would only make matters worse. This is accompanied by increased hair

Advice please
I began to have discomfort again but didn’t know if It was OA as I also stopped taking naproxen following a total
hip
replacement
. I have been seen by the physio at my GP surgery and he’s referred me to a rheumatologist with suspected RA. He said lots of people with PMR also have RA.

Now I'm worried
Morning I have been struggling since Nov 2021 with brain fog, fatigue, dreadful short term memory and awful bone/joint pain in shins/knees to the point I have to take pain killers which I hate. I had my bloods done on 24/2/22 at 9.30am, fasting and last dose 12 hours prior (it may have been a bit longer

NHS Blood test frequency has been reduced, where can I get a private test to supplement my annual test.
I should be very grateful if you experienced and knowledgeable people could help me to source a private blood test for TSH T4 and T3 please. My GP used to do a TSH and T4 every 6 months but now will only do one annually. To source my meds I need a test every 6 months. I live in the South East and
