Dosage and skin damage
It would be really helpful if folk were able to put up the dosage that they are on when communicating, I try to assess what is happening with so many awful side effects.I have been on prednisolone for several years and got down to 4mg last January when having a

Weaning off painkillers
Had
hip
replacement
6 weeks ago.On 1000mg paracetemol and 60mg codeine 4 times a day pain relief. Had no advice about how long I should take this medication or how to manage coming off it. Would love a drink at Christmas. How long should I be on painkillers and can I get off them this week?

running after hip replacement contd 2
About a month ago I wrote about starting to run again after a
hip
replacement
in February. It had gone well and starting at week 4 I did three runs before coming down with a nasty cough and cold (not Covid!) that laid me low.

Total Knee Replacement Finally
I know it’s harder to recover from than
hip
replacement
, but I am not worried. It’s hurt for 20years so what does 1 more year matter? I guess the other one will need doing at some point, and as I’ve just turned 52 it isn’t ideal.

Accident
Was transferred to a ward by 9 and then two days later had partial
hip
replacement
. It was an interesting experience as I was found to have a streptococcous infection ,so was being treated for that ,in a private room, as well as my scleroderma and hip. Most of the staff were wonderful.

RLS during in the morning and during the day when trying to take a nap?
First time I was here because she suffered badly from RLS which worsened a lot after
hip
replacement
. And she was on 900 mg Neurontin and 0.0375 mg of Pramipexole that time.

Hip replacement
I am looking to hear from anyone with A Fib who has had a
hip
replacement
operation. Did you have any problems, were there any concerns about doing the operation from the doctors? Please let me know of your experience. Thank you.

While I remember….
While I was sharing a four bay ward post
hip
replacement
, two ladies - who had a total knee replacement and the other a half knee replacement - told me that although, like me, they had a spinal block plus sedation they both could hear the sawing and hammering and what the surgeons were saying…. but

hip replacement soon
my hematologist wants me to get my platelets under 400 for my surgery so I had to up my hydroxyurea to every day instead of 4 a week. He’s ok with them in the 500 range but thinks it’s better for them to be lower for surgery. He says I can cut back after a month after surgery. I really want to stay

Fybro the answer to everything?
This apparently was flagged already when I had a chest xray after my second
hip
replacement
, 4 years ago. No one ever told me this. I spent 4 years with this pain and all that time the hospital knew but nothing was said.

Almost there... Couch2 5k!
Back in January I signed up for a 5k run which is this Sunday! I had 2 hip replacements in 2019 and hadn't run a step since then. The first runs were horrid, my legs felt like cement weights. Now I'm doing 30 min runs, only to find out on the track today that I only did 2 miles in 30 min! Not sure where

Most efficient way to increase folate?
I did continue my supplements but had to stop them ahead of a
hip
replacement
on August. Since then I’ve been a bit lax in taking my supplements. (New kitchen , different layout, out of sight etc!).

Pain Clinics
1. I attended my 1st PC in 2012 (Cambridge) following spinal decompression which was successful but I also had fibromyalgia. 2. Transferred to 2nd Peterborough PC due to travel problems. Sat through excruciatingly painful group sessions relating to the Biopsychosocial Model and Mindfulness. Course

Pain Relief
I have posted before regarding Scleroderma and Raynauds and the problems which relate to this. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and they are so very painful. I was coping with the help of steroid injections, paracetamol and Ibuprofen however steroid injections are now limited with less relief and

Medical Cannabis?
Has anyone tried medical cannabis for pain relief? I have severe arthritis which limits my life quite a lot, my doctor won’t refer me for knee replacement until I lose more weight, and being on Rux has meant more weight gain! Obviously will need to ask haematologist about. It is quite expensive and
