Healthy Lifestyle choices can significantly boost your life span post CABG
Hello Lovely People, This is my first post and I don’t even know whether I am doing this correctly. I had a Heart Attack at the age of 33 and ended up having Quintuple Cardiac Bypass Surgery. I have had a lot of anxiety since then about quality life and my life span in general. Which, I am pretty sure

How do you feel when in AF?
I am 66 and got diagnosed with AF last November and am on anti coagulants and beta blockers. I have been relatively fine since then other than the odd ectopic and fluttering but just for a few seconds. Then three days ago in the early hours of the morning I woke up with a thump in my chest and my heart

Does anyone else with SLE have leaky heart valves?
Hello everyone, I got a scare on Wednesday when I went for a routine echocardiogram (prior to bunion surgery next week as I said I had a leaky heart valve which had never caused me any problems and was very minor when they first discovered it about 10 years ago. To be safe they said they'd better check

Hi everybody out there. Not been on here for a week or more. As you can tell from my title I seem to be on an absolute downer. I feel like I am in limbo. I am awaiting open heart surgery on my aortic valve and I have severe regurgitation but I have had echo cardiogram and breathing tests still awaiting

Refusing Lung Transplant
A few weeks ago my wife's neurologist put her forward for consideration for lung transplant surgery. After consideration, my wife has declined as she feels it represents a great deal of change to her life, in which she is quite content. I go along with her wishes but wondered if this was a decision made

Trying to learn . I don't have heart failure but know someone who has been told they are and have arrhythmia. What causes this? Could it be untreated thyroid would that be common?

Am I now in permanent AF?
Just a brief introduction , I have been suffering from AF for about 5 years and after 3 ablations ,1 was for flutter, I was getting episodes every 2 to 3 weeks usually lasting 4 to 6 hours. These episodes are usually terminated by PIP flecainide and metoprolol . I’m used to them now and basically ride

Health/Travel Insurance after Liver Transplant
I am travelling to the USA soon and am so stressed about the cost of Health insurance for the 7 days that I will be there. Last quote I received was upwards of £2000. I am 3 years post liver transplant. Am I going to the wrong companies? Just want to feel reassured that if anything happens that I will

May the Fourth be with me!
Headed to my fourth ablation today after many deliberations. Cardioversion took care of an atrial tachycardia episode back in February. Per EP’s instructions, came off metoprolol and flecainide four days prior to today … and amazingly no Afib or flutter. In fact, feeling quite well. So wondering if I

Week 2 Buddy?
Anyone on Week 2? Looking for an online buddy or some chat with someone who is at the same point as me? I’m doing in part for health reasons as I’m waiting for a kidney transplant. Doing most of the actual runs with my partner, unfortunately he finds them very easy and is naturally fit!

Edoxaban dangers
Yesterday, 28 Mar 22, I received a letter from my local surgery stating that a review of my medication had taken place by a consultant cardioligist and that I was being moved from Apixaban to Edoxaban as it was cheaper and was not detrimental to my health. AFib, Post Ablation, & Sex
I haven't seen this topic here and I don't know if it's within the guidelines but here goes: What relationship have folks here experienced between sex, Afib, and the post-Ablation period? When my Afib started, there was some correlation between having episodes after having had sex. Apparently, sexual

Heart valve replacement.
Hi everyone. Hope you are all OK. I have been told today that I need open heart surgery to replace a leaky heart valve. I am sending myself round the bend as I am scared stiff at the thought of this surgery. Any help or advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has had this done
