Post PV Myelofibrosis - One Year Update

Hi allI have been feeling ropey,v lethargic and a bit slow for a few months now, despite increase in Levothyroxine. I had attributed this to constant blood loss(months) following HRT which didn't suit me,however this stopped 2 months ago. Previous blood tests showed haemoglobin on the low side so have

AF medication
I have had palpitations intermittently for a long time then realised I had AF. As it is Paroxysmal I captured it on a Scan watch and shared the ecg with my GP who confirmed the diagnosis. The GP performed blood tests to look at underlying causes and all normal. The GP has referred me for 24 hour tape

Hair loss while tapering Prednisone
Hi. Yet another issue. My hair has started falling out in clumps. I am devastated. I had some loss when I was on Pred at different times over the last 5 years especially in the beginning. I began tapering to 2 mg then 1 in late spring and maintaining that except with some flares when I took more. This

Update after Endo
Good morning, I'm just writing this as an update to anyone who may be interested in my seemingly-odd case... My Endo appointment went well. (Or so I thought but if you're learning from this post, please read the comments!) She believes I have Graves disease, despite the antibodies indicating Hashimotos

Please pray for me 🙏
She's been dealing with so much health problems but she never had before. Started with a random blood test with bad results so she got checked up with that. It was nephrotic syndrome and something else for the kidneys. I made peace with okay this is forever we'll make her comfortable and treat it Etc

Regular Check-ups - What should be tested?
Hello All I was diagnnksosed with PMR in June 2022. I have paid for a couple of private Rheumy appointments but am still waiting for my first NHS appointment (referred June 2023, appointment notified for end March 2024). I have a GP appointment (not my usual GP) on Tuesday and would like to know what

Does this look like a malar rash? Would it be seen as one by a doctor, do you think?
I have had joint pain and tiredness for the last six years. This last year it has got significantly worse and although I am overweight, the pain is felt in my fingers and elbows sometimes. My heel and ankle are also badly affected. The fatigue is debilitating. I have also developed digestive issues

I am confused CKD
Some time ago, just over 2 years now I had to go into hospital for just a day with a breathing problem and whilst there I had several blood tests. I was told one of them, the kidney function test was abnormal and I might be referred to see a renal consultant. That actually didn't happen. I have

Understand Your Blood Work
this is from a Canadian PBC Society PBC FACT SHEET (09/02/16) (may vary by lab) ALP Alkaline Phosphatase This enzyme occurs mainly in liver cells next to bile ducts, and in bone. The blood level is raised in PBC and is the main enzyme that is checked to see if you have a response to treatment

Why was I offered a Statin, so simply and so automatically?
Hi group, Sorry, this may be down to my naiveity but, a couple weeks ago I went and had my annual blood tests and normally I log onto the NHS App a day after to see and check the results. Everything was well and normal apart from my chorlestorol which came back as borderline. I'm already on medication

ama2 positive but nhs doing nothing
hiya, I tested AMA positive in 2009 whilst doing blood tests. They wondered if I had MS. This was not a high positive (though it’s my understanding that it doesn’t matter: a positive is a positive). They did not do anything about it. No checks at all other than normal bloods. over the years that AMA

Blood Test Results
Received this test result. My GP says it will be because of AF and no need to refer for another echocardiogram as the one I had in December was an improvement on the one in September. Another blood test result was abnormal for Serum Ferritin levels. Has anyone else had experience of these? x
