Lynparza - warning!
I'm writing this in pure agony in hopes, that it might help someone in the future. My father is castrate resistant and when Xtandi stopped working, his MO put him on dexamethasone + abiraterone + Lynparza (olaparib). This combo is now registered in European Union even for men without BRCA mutation

I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced Hydroxy not working as well after a time? I have been only taking it for 2 years now and all seems to have been going well until a couple of months ago when my platelets started to rise again. I have had another visit to consultant today and they are

Advice re. Churchill hospital
Can anyone who attends the Churchill hospital in Oxford give me a little guidance please. I have been referred to haematology there and have an appointment in late May. I will have to drive to get there (a round trip of about 70 miles) and I understand that parking there is pretty hellish. So if anyone

More Challenges to Overcome!
Some of you may recall that for some years, I've frequently experienced ectopic beats. They've been calmed down with a lowish dose of a beta blocker (Propranolol) and don't usually give me too much cause for concern......until about a week ago when they re-emerged, but with a different manifestation

Cholestyramine
My husband has had explosive diarrhea since mid February. After blood tests, stool samples, colonoscopy, and more stool samples, they are not able to determine what is causing the diarrhea. The doctor has prescribed Cholestyramine. Has anyone had experience with this medication and did it help?

What's considered the best time to take a blood test, to check levels?
Hi there, general query, but wondered what the best routine/time is to take a blood test to check thyroid levels. I've usually taken my own tests in the morning about 9.30am, but I've always done this after taking my thyroid meds at 7am that same morning. Having read a few messages on here, I'm beginning

If my blood test show I have no inflammation, could this explain why Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) did not work for me?

Stage 4 fibrosis of the Liver
I contracted Hepatitis A in 2020, undiagnosed for 2 months. Six months later I was told I had NALD and last year I was sent for ultrasound scans and blood tests to check for cancer. In March this year, I was told I had Stage 4 Fibrosis of the liver. Does anyone know if this can be reversed, any treatments

Sore toes and feet
Hi , is there anyone here that suffers from painful toes and feet , especially at night . It is generally my right foot that tends to play up most , the heat and pain generated in the toes and foot is at the best of times unbearable. Have been to see a chiropodist, but they didn't have any idea of what

Searching for an immunologist
I strongly believe that I keep failing for two years due to my alergical response. In my next transfer (from donor), I would like to use intralipids. Unfortunately, the doctor doesn't agree to give me intralipids without recommendation of an immunologist. For last three weeks, we have been searching

Inflamed liver
Hi All, I haven't posted for a while, so I will try to explain how I feel generally. Had HA back in September & had a stent fitted. Most of the time I feel ok but every now & again I feel pretty awful, like I'm getting over Flu or a virus. My main symptons are tenderness in lower ribs & stomach ache

Not entirely thyroid related but you are experts on testing.
I've used medichecks over the past 4 years and have no reason to doubt their accuracy, but my eldest son has been diagnosed as depressed and the usual anti-depressants have been thrown his way without any further investigations. I'm not anti anti-depressants but I'm very much pro investigation, particualarly

Prefer pain to steroids!
in 2019 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, in 2023 following a dexa I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. Today a rheumatologist told me despite negative blood tests he was pretty certain I have PMR and after further blood tests wants me to start taking prednisone. I chose not to take meds for the osteoporosis
