What can cause a chest X-ray to result in hyperaeration that is not COPD?
Hello! Its my first time here and I think that asking questions here may be very helpful in clearing things out for me. My question is what could be the cause of "Hyperarated/Hyperinflated lungs," chest x-ray results, notwithstanding the good readings on the oximeter device which showed a 99-100 level

Hello everyone I have just had yet another chest x Ray which shows the unpronounceable word above on the left lung. Apparently I now have to have a ct scan to see what’s causing it. I have had pneumonia for months but still coughing. Has anyone else had this and how do they treat it? Best wishes to all

Starting again...
Hi, it's been a long time since I posted in here. I don't know if anybody will remember me. I originally started C25K back in August 2014, graduating in the November (an injury held me up for a few weeks). After graduation I carried on running 3 times a week over the next few months. Then I started going

Begging for help
Growing up I had asthma, allergies,
hay
fever
and allergies to animals. Being near a horse would trigger a big inflammatory response in hives, puffy and watery eyes, and a severe asthma attack that would result in needing a nebuliser.

🤷♀️ Confused
I went to see my doctor a few months ago because I thought I had developed asthma;I found myself short of breath with accompanying

symptoms. To cut a long story short after having a spirometry test which gave a very poor result I was told it was not asthma but suspected COPD.

Lost cause
So last Wednesday I sat up a&e for 7 hours as I wanted to finally put my heart worries to bed. Had ecg, blood pressure, oxygen reader, chest X-ray and bloods taken, all came back absolutely fine!!! I should be feeling great right? Wrong. Still feel like I’m dying everyday. My breathing is terrible and

Health Anxiety
Newbie here. I've been feeling sick for a while and ended up in the ER. They ran blood tests, did a chest X-Ray and the doctor told me that everything was normal, that its probably just bronchitis/sinus infection. Today my nose bled twice and now I'm wondering if its leukemia because I've felt pain in

Is Hashimoto's possible without weight gain?
Having recently been diagnosed with autoimmune disorder/Hashimoto's, I have done a little reading and was curious as to whether it's possible to actually have Hashimoto's but with the total opposite of the weight gain symptom? I tick a lot of the boxes, but weight gain seems a very, very common - almost

Asthma or not?
I was diagnosed with viral asthma on 10 September and I’m on the blue (since 10 September) and brown inhaler (since 14 September). I couldn’t get an asthma nurse’s appointment till a couple of days ago. She took a history, did a spirometry test (ok), watched my inhaler technique (good), told me my chest

Post op.
So I had my 4th lap on Wednesday. They unstuck my bowels so hopefully I can ease off the laxatives, they did a cystoscopy and said I have interstitial cystitis so been referred to the urologist and they went to remove my endo and hunt for more but apparently when they did a thing called the head down

Downhill a little with cough variant asthma
Had a difficult week and saw both the asthma nurse who promptly went to get my GP. Now have prednisone 30mg for seven days and a chest x-Ray to be done. I was just coughing and coughing and full of mucus. Chest tight and sweating. Some crackles in lower lung. Of course no wheezing but I don’t wheeze

New Diagnosis?
Hi, I suffer from severe

, and am currently on a blue ventolin/salbutamol inhaler due to suspected seasonal asthma (spent 2 weeks on prednisolone before being put on the inhaler) and have been for the past 2 months which has made a massive difference to me!

Steroid update
I had my depo steroid jab yesterday by a Rheumatoid nurse who was fantastic. She gave me a very thorough examination and really listened to me. Never had that before. She then insisted I had more blood tests and a chest X-ray that day. I thought you only had to have a chest X-ray if you were going to

Worsening breathing problems due to B12 deficiency?
Hi guys, I've been having a number of symptoms for the past 4-6 months which have increasingly become worse. Most notably, I've had gastritis-like symptoms, including bloating, wind, stomach discomfort and reflux, which often comes with a sort of 'lump in the throat'/tightness in my throat that comes

Back to square 1?.....
So....about a month ago I damaged my Achilles & ended up with 3 weeks out. Then, just as I was getting to wonder if I should start up again, I picked up what the GP described as a "bugger of a chest infection". 2 different lots of antibiotics, inhalers (I'm not asthmatic), ambulance called out, EGC &

GCA Tapering Prednisolone too steeply, the next chapter
Hi all and firstly thank you for all the good advice and support I received in response to my previous post. To recap on 03/09/18 Had been advised by Rheumatologist to cut from 65mg to 30mg. By 10/09/18 I had head pains and was feeling really shaky so I phoned help line and was advised to go for blood

5 month Cough
Hey guys, I've had this terrible cough for about five months now. It doesn't happen when Im sleeping but during the day I'll often cough up phlegm or dry heave from the cough. I went and saw my GP and they sent me for breathing tests and a chest X-Ray. Nothing showed up and my breathing was normal. I
