Total thyroidectomy
Hi After suffering from breathlessness for a few months, I underwent various tests in April 2021 to try and find the cause. During a lung CT to see if I had any blood clots, I was advised that my thyroid was very large, not in the right location, and multi-nodular and could be the cause of the breathing

Hi all. Well 4 1/2 years after my bypass surgery I found myself with similar angina pains although things went slightly differently this time. At first I think I was in denial about the pain 'was it imagined' 'was it indigestion'? In the end I could ignore it no longer so last Monday (18th) I phoned

Primary open-angle glaucoma
Hi everyone, I have just joined this group as I have very recently been diagnosed with the above and told I have a left disc haemorrhage. I have been looking on the internet, as you do, and have managed to terrify myself! I am also about to have cataracts removed from both eyes. Would love to hear from

Lecicarbon A suppositories
I`ve been diagnosed with evacuatory dysfunction and last week saw a colorectal surgeon privately who has referred me for a proctogram but in the meantime suggested I should try Lecicarbon suppositories instead of glycerol. He didn`t give me a prescription but said I can buy them over the counter. Looking

Heart palpitations since vaccine. Myocarditis?
Myocarditis? I had my second moderna vaccine 21/9/21. I was flu like a couple of days, then heart palpitations started. I wake a few times in the night gasping for breath or with my heart one pound like it's missed a beat. I can't run, workout or yoga anymore. I have to walk slowly or stop on poor dog

Surgical sperm retrieval recovery
Hi, My husband had SSR last week where they had to make an incision into both testicles. He’s still in pain but the clinic said yesterday that it’s quite normal and to monitor over the next week. Today we noticed on one side there is a lump under the stitches and the testicle on that side isn’t dropping

VERY WORRYING!
Cannot believe it. But on Monday when I had my cataract op in my left eye, one set of eye drops were not available. Was told they would be delivered on Wednesday, meaning I would miss a day. They did not arrive. Tried in vain to ring the pharmacy at the hospital yesterday afternoon and again this

Superior Limbic Keratoconjunctivitis
Went to see my Consultant Ophthalmologist today (great chap who sorted my floaters, which were the size of icebergs, a couple of years ago and said that I would need cataracts sorted sooner or later so elected to do them at the same time as the floaters and all on the NHS – perfect) as I have some discomfort

So guys, after some advice. My, what I called bad eye has been a bit sore the last couple of days, Im a total panicker always.....
I saw my consultant back in July after having quite regular lucentis injections and he said it was all good and didn't need anymore. Looking to see me in 3 months for a follow up and sign me off. I had a macular oedema, brvo. Now, should I get in touch again with him immediately. No vision changes

Dry ears, eyes etc and Buckthorn Oil Capsules
I came across an article recently for dry eyes, ears etc. Has anyone taken Buckthorn Oil capsules for this? I have just purchased Omega7 which contains [i]Omega 3, 6, 7, 9 and Vit A (beta carotene) which maintains normal structure and function of the skin and mucous membranes, such as the eyes,

Eye problems
So this must be about my third post in as many days… 🙄 Anyone else suffer from blurry eyes? And sore eyes?? For a while now I’ve had issues getting my eyes to focus when moving from close up (esp my phone) to further away. I know this isn’t unusual and as I’m mid 40s it’s probably expected if not overdue

FEAR OF DIAGNOSIS
Tomorrow is my OCT RNFL test scheduled due to Steroid induced OHT diagnosis which causes my IOP rises to 24.....And till than I am using timolol once a day so that The IOP will remain below 20....Few days back all routine eye tests and OPtic nerve is fine....But this RNFL test is creating havoc inside

Alcohol on same day as Pegasys shot, yay or nay?
Has anyone consumed alcohol prior to taking pegasys, on the same day? I’m normally well behaved but on holiday tonight and the cocktail menu looks hard to resist 😂 Can’t delay peg injection for logistical reasons.

Measuring fasting blood glucose on waking in the morning
I want to measure my fasting blood glucose and figured that taking a reading after getting (but before food or medication) is a good time. However I have read that various overnight effects can cause a "dawn phenomenon" in which blood glucose is artificially raised. How long should I wait after waking

I'm not making a big deal, am I?
My Lupus has been attacking my kidneys and I have been in chemo for a little bit now. So far seems to be going well. Yesterday I had a sore throat and a mild temp (37degrees) so I phoned the chemo hotline who then said since no temp spike they were happy to refer me to GP, GP prescribed antibiotics and
