How long will it take for the B12 jab to work
I had my B12 injection about 4 days ago and feel even worse than before it, B12 deficiency the same as pernicious anaemia? I was also diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia, together with fibromyalgia I am feeling rubbish. How long will the injection take to work, please?

NICE Guidance on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome delayed
Most of us here will know the life-draining fatigue that often accompanies systemic autoimmune conditions. Many will have co-diagnoses of CFS or ME. For a long time, people with ME/CFS have argued that these are "real", medical conditions, rather than the effects of psychological dysfunction or deconditioning

SIBO and Elevated Liver Enzymes
I have had gastro issues the last two months after using a proton pump inhibitor in May and was finally diagnosed with SIBO on Monday. My GI started me on Rifaximin and Neomycin last night. She did a liver function panel test before I started on the antibiotics and the AST was 52 and the ALT was 73.

B12 deficiency tongue photo
I recently wrote about burning mouth syndrome- and how for diagnosis to be considered for oral dysaesthesia as a primary condition would require exclusion of all secondary conditions: B12/folate/ferritin, autoimmune conditions and salivary gland disorders. My angular cheilitis issues have been resolved

Low stomach acid tests
I asked some questions about B12 and Diarrhoea here: https://healthunlocked.com/pasoc/posts/145437733/vit-b12-and-diarrhoea Some people came back suggesting that low stomach acid (hypochlorhydria or achlorhydria) is a cause of stomach acid. I did the sodium bicarbonate "burp" test and it seems I might

Adding good news
Hi all. I thought I would pop in and share some good news. I have refused to take all the drugs that have been offered to me. But even experimentation with lower levels of hydrocodone and OxyContin have been uncomfortable enough that I refused to go in the opioid direction. What has worked for me and

I am however worried that this high dose is too much your help and

5mg Folic Acid
I’m really confused and hope someone may be in a position to offer clarification on this question. My folate levels have always been mid range, regardless of frequency of injections or sublingual tablets however, I’m often seeing advice being given on forums that you should always take 5mg folic acid

My Labs
Just got my labs back (keep in mind that I had a B12 injection from my former GP on June 30th). Not sure what to make of it. I have had two loading doses of B12 the last two days. Should I stay the course on the injections- daily for a week, then weekly for 4 weeks, then monthly? Intrinsic Factor: 1.1

B12 Testing
My GP tested my B12 in late June and it was 248. She gave me a B12 (Cyanocobalamin) injection on June 30th without doing any other tests. I then went to see a neurologist and she couldn’t believe that the GP had not done more testing. The neurologist has me scheduled today for the following tests: B12

Base line labs for B12 Deficiency.
I have been getting B12 injections every 3 months. With that I have recently being taking B12 supplement tablets 1000ug daily. (Helps me get through the 12 week wait). So... Now I have asked for a blood test to get up to date lab readings. My next injection is in August. Should I stop the daily supplement

Ferritin/Folacin confusion
Latest blood test results. Ferritin 155ug//L (Range 13 - 150) Folate 7.4 ug/L (Range over 2.9) I take Folacin 400 ug but is this Folate or Ferritin or neither? Feeling totally dumb so would be grateful for any words of wisdom from the good members here. Thank you.

Help understanding PA lab result?
Hi! I had an antibody test for pernicious anemia and I can't read the lab results well... my antibody level says 2.15 and the comparison levels are NEGATIVE = <20.0 EQUIVOCAL = 20.1 - 24.9 POSITIVE = >25. Are these in the same units? Would this be a positive or negative test? I am currently having neurological

How easy is it to get toxic levels of B12
I take a weekly shot. It seems like the effects start to wear off after a few days and my last two shots were late bringing all sorts of symptoms. Should I ask about increasing frequency to every few days instead or will I run the risk of getting too much now? My last levels drawn were in the proper
