Low carb and Keto diets
I am currently reading 'Eat rich Live Long' by Cummins and Gerber MD. It is a fascinating book that borders on being a full blown medical textbook in that it provides the most lucid explanation I have seen about the devastating effects of eating sugar on the human body, what it does to the bodies systems

In Lchf or not!!
I have dillied and dallied.....weed on sticks......”lost weight.....got frightened about fibre Not eaten enough....starvation mode...... More dilly and dally! I love Lchf I also want a piece of toast and fruit now and again; not to mention the odd lentil. All of which obviously would jack carbs up

A picture paints a thousand words?
A 20ml metal ball found in my abdomen, not digestive track. This was found 2 weeks ago in an MRI. They had to stop MRI obviously and they took xrays later. Hmmm I think someone has forgotten something in DIEP flap surgery. Could this have hindered my health? Who knows eh? Sure didn't help it. That's

Palm Oil
Someone raised the subject of palm oil - good or bad? - in the LCHF forum, and I thought there might be some general interest in the subject. Palm oil makes the news occasionally because it's associated with rainforest destruction and "unhealthy fats" (saturated fat). As with most things, these issues

Mission Accomplished!
I know 12lbs wasn't a big target. Never having been on a weight loss diet before I had no idea how it would go. But in just four weeks I managed to lose 12 1/2lbs. I haven't quite lost the couple of inches around my waist - nearly, not quite. But following this plan and receiving the fantastic comments

Could T3 be my last hope of being well, even if blood levels are 'normal'?
I tried a
gluten
free
diet
for several months and felt no better. For 8 years I’ve been on sertraline for depression/PTSD and feel a lot better in that respect. I’ve tried every painkiller going - I’m currently on pregabalin but I don't think it makes any difference to the pain.

RA, Gluten and Leaky Gut
I was diagnosed with RA and was given Naproxen (despite being given this before and no effect, they didnt listen to me) I’ve been asked to go on a
gluten
free
diet
, as
Gluten
may be my trigger. But does Naproxen has gluten in?

BeyondMeat Burger at AllBarOne
Last night we went out with friends and they chose All Bar One in Oxford. They had a voucher for the chain that expired yesterday, so All Bar One was it. I knew that I would be reasonably okay at AllBarOne because I have found vegan options at their airport outlets - and that was a year or two ago.

Tired, Grouchy and in need of 2 weeks in bed (and a new non-endo belly!)
I also may have indulged in quire a few glutenous cakes and pastries over the last few very stressful weeks - Not helping my strict
gluten
-
free
endo
diet
(which does actually help an awful lot when I stick to it!) Oops!!

Red meat and cancer
Since the subject comes up occasionally in regard to LCHF, the video in this post might be of interest. It discusses the actual science behind the assertion that red meat causes cancer: https://healthunlocked.com/healthyeating/posts/139924102/red-meat-is-worse-than-smoking

Close, so close...
Morning peeps. I'm a bit please today. Lost 4 1/2lbs this week. Three weeks in and I have just 1 1/2lbs to lose to make it the 12lbs I intend and another 1/2 inch and I'll be back to my handsome self - with a bag over my head, obviously! It is incredible to me. Never been on a weight loss diet before

Blessing in disguise?
Hi, just joined. I am 73 and had a heart attack 2 months ago. Had emergency stent fitted to blocked artery. Was advised low salt, low sugar and low fat diet. Embraced this wholeheartedly and have lost 7 Ks. Just had blood test and Cloresterol gone down from 5.2 to 3.1. Then found that I am just within

Tasty treats
I had morning tea at a friend’s place and she’d bought us a treat. Gluten free, low sugar, low carb, natural ingredients. What more could a girl want? Delicious too. I’ll have to see what else this bakery sells. I’m sure there are similar bakeries in other parts of the world.

Low fat diet
Does anyone still follow the old assumption that a low-fat diet can aid in normalizing VLCFA levels and thus slow progression?

Almost 1300
Congrats fellow LCHF peeps. This community is about to reach 1300. I have been watching this community slowly grow over the past year and look forward to significant growth this year. The tide is turning. Keep up the good work. You have figured out what many have not.

Low-carbohydrate diet plus walking to reduce metabolic disturbances caused by ADT.
New study from Steve Freedland below. "The objective of this study was to test a low-carbohydrate diet (LCD) plus walking to reduce androgen deprivation therapy (ADT)-induced metabolic disturbances." "LCD (≤20g carbohydrate/day) plus walking (≥30 min for ≥5 days/week)" "At 6 months, LCD/walking reduced
