Explaining transplant to our 5 year old daughter
So it’s been a little while since I’ve been on here and I thought that I would give you an update. It might be a long one though!! Hubby’s health has been deteriorating since christmas which ended up with me calling an ambulance on 21st March as he become very confused, quite unresponsive and had trouble

More spider veins appearing
I had elevated enzymes 2 years ago and everything on my scans came back healthy. My bloods went back to normal and I’ve gotten in the best shape of my life. But recently I’ve noticed more spider veins appearing on my chest and torso. I have a blood test tomorrow, but I’m just down in the dumps while

Gilbert’s Syndrome!
Well after months of worry I’ve had confirmation that I carry the Gilbert’s syndrome gene. My US and MRCP was clear of any cirrhosis. They do want me to still have a fibroscan as some of my other levels were elevated, but at least I can hopefully put cirrhosis to bed now. Feel like I’ve been given a

Ascites
Hello, I was recently diagnosed with high grade serous ovarian and had my first chemo on Tuesday. Prior to that I was really suffering from ascites and was drained a few days before chemo. The ascites is back with a vengeance but suspect the Onc will want me to wait a few days before draining again

Lindsay nails and liver pain
I have Lindsay nails (confirmed by my doctor) with no other condition. My blood test seems to be normal, but I have a mild pain around my liver. What could it be due to?

Liver tests ok, still unwell. Anxious about cirrhosis being missed.
Liver tests good except low phosphate. Day 6 alcohol free, still nauseous and unwell. Wondering I’d I can have cirrhosis and still good liver results?

Biopsy
Hi can someone help I’m really worried about the results of my biopsy. It confirmed fibroscan reading there is a lot of scaring in the liver with dense bridging fibrosis and early nodularity. The fact that the pressure measurement across the liver was normal at 4mmHg doesn’t help calm me. I’m so worried

Could I Have Cirrhosis?
In 2018 I was drinking a lot, woke up with right upper quadrant pain and went to the ER. They said my liver was fine after blood work and ultrasound. I followed up with a gastroenterologist and got labs for everything under the sun and he thought my liver was ok too, but I wasn’t convinced but after

Information on liver cirrhosis
Hi everyone. My brother has liver cirrhosis, and seems to have taken a turn for the worst. He is in hospital, and with the current climate we just don’t know what’s going to happen with him. He is often out of breath, and his skin is so yellow and blotchy. He feels so tired all the time. They said
