Advice please before visits to gp on Tuesday
After having the dubious pleasure of having
gastroscopy
and colonoscopy on the same day two weeks ago (hope they used different cameras lol), I had a call from the surgery to say I had severe gastritis and doc wanted to see me to put me on a ppi.

I had a
gastroscopy
last week and have yet to get the results from the gastro. I see him again in a couple weeks once he gets the biopsies back. I am quite overwhelmed by all of this. I was just starting to get a handle on the PBC and now I have this too.

Memory Problems, tingling hands and loss of sensation in finger tips and toes
I tested positive for IF antibodies and also parietal cell antibodies and the last
gastroscopy
showed atrophic gastritis. I had full blown auto immune PA. I went private for an MRI scan and some neuro test and was told all was fine and offered amyltryptaline!!

Esophageal stricture
Hi all, I'm about to have a
gastroscopy
to determine what has caused the narrowing of my oesophagus. Apparently, this can be caused by acid reflux. Has anyone else, with coeliac disease, found they had this problem? My voice is affected, too; it breaks when I am speaking or singing.

Being a patient is so much more than just taking meds
Let me give you three examples: (1) Two weeks ago I went for a
gastroscopy
. Biopsies needed to be taken from my transplanted bowel. My appointment was at 8.30am which meant we had to get ready at 6am. We arrived on time.

Abnormal cells
I had a call in January from the hospital, advising they had found abnormal cells when I had my routine
gastroscopy
in December. I was diagnosed with Barratt's Oesophagus 8 years ago and this is the first time they have found an abnormality.

I've had an appointment made by my doctor for a
gastroscopy
because I've recently been suffering from acid reflux/heartburn. She had put me on lanzaprazole for a month which worked very well, however once prescription finished it has come back again.

how long should it take for a gastroscopy biopsy to be analysed and reported?
I had a
gastroscopy
3 weeks and 5 days ago. (yes - i'm counting!) Still not got the results. I called the hospital and they said a letter had been dictated.....but two days later, still nothing. Is this time lapse common?

I wonder if anyone else has this dilemma. I had a gastroscopy done last October to test for coeliac disease. My father, sister and a first
cousin have the condition and as I had all the same symptoms I went gluten free for nearly a year before I had the scope done. I could only stay on gluten for 3 and half weeks as I got so ill and and felt system failure with even my kidneys not working properly. My test came back negative. I was amazed

My soon to be 18yr old daughter has had her life thwarted over the past 2 years with her symptoms
Recently we have been seeing an excellent gastroenterologist who is methodically investigating her symptoms she has had normal colonoscopy
gastroscopy
and capsule endoscopy we are waiting on the results of a gastric emptying test as he is almost certain she has a gastric dysmotility with visceral hypersensitivity

Has anyone else had this?
I've read all your posts for going on two years now. Some of them are truly inspiring. I've never contributed until now. My wife Ingrid was diagnosed with grade IIIc 3 1/2 years ago. At that time they gave her "months". Her cancer is low grade, but her tumours are calcifying i.e. turning to bone. They

In the well of self-pity, acid reflux and post ATOS WCA gloom....
Although the latter did make the
gastroscopy
seem like a fun day out!..... Anyhow, I am now utterly wiped, in a lot of pain, brain fog, feeling very down, etc - 4 days on. Is this usual for someone with Lupus after such 'exertions'? And what about hiatus hernia?
