Reiterated my symptoms of B12 deficiency, Folate deficiency, Hypothyroidism, vegetarian and having a
gastric
band
12 years ago a lightbulb came on! Oh so yes probably good idea for B12 injections! She said she will write to gastroenterologists (I thought I may have PA).

I explained my symptoms and what my last blood tests results were and I am indeterminate B12 deficient (as per March 24 N.I.C.E guidlines); I also explained it may be my
gastric
band
that’s stopping my absorption of B12 and Folate!

Bisphosphonates
I had 1 Prolia shot in Feb with many side effects. I’m going to see a Rheumatologist to Relay me off. I can’t take any Bisphosphonates because I had Gastric Bypass. I don’t know what to do. Is there anyone out there that been on Prolia and can’t take a Bisphosphonate? I would love to hear what you took

Hi all, I got some private tests done (attached) and I have to say I’m surprised as they seem to point to me being hyperthyroid but have all the symptoms of hypo. Can someone explain to me please? Other tests done recently were: B12 - 240 - I have pernicious anaemia and am getting B12 injections off

Non alcoholic fatty liver
Hi, im diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis and I take 125mcg of levothyroxine. A few years ago I had my gallbladder removed due to it being full of stones and a large polyp and they found that I have fatty liver disease. The only advise I was given was to drop my calories to 200 a day for a few weeks

A case study post bariatric surgery
For anyone who has access to twitter, this case study posted yesterday might be of some interest. Probably as much for the discussion as the original case. (Don't get too excited! It is just another case where the origination of the problem doesn't get blamed. As I see it, the cause was iatrogenic and

Suppression of TSH but low T4/T3 levels whilst taking Levo/Lio Combo
A few years ago, my thyroid results were looking a lot better but NHS GP over the last 2 years has told me to reduce my dosage twice (because of the 'risks' of overtreatment). I'm now on 100mcg levothyroxine (75mcg supplied by GP and topped up by myself) and 25mcg liothyronine (self-sourced). I now don't

Am I hypothyroid?
I’m looking for some guidance/information as I haven’t been able to get much clarity from my GP and endocrinologist. I started having all the usual hypo symptoms about 2 years ago; feeling cold, fatigued, weight gain, low moods, brittle hair and nails, skin itching, night sweats, tinnitus, aching joints

Blood results
Hi all, Following on from the very useful help and advice I received on my previous posts, I have some blood results back and am hoping for some advice this time. My B12 came back in the normal range but low and my ferritin came back only just scraping into the normal range (results attached).

What should I do please?
I had a gastric bypass 7 years ago. A routine blood test showed my B12 level was 195. The GP said, "Take iron tablet's". I was unable to function properly with fatigue, dementia symptoms and I felt like I was dying. I saw a private gp who checked my results and said that I needed B12 injections. After
