round two!
remember how I was short of breath a few weeks ago, went to the ER, sent home on oxygen and told it was a cold. I spent four days on oxygen, then coughed like crazy for two weeks, staring the muscle under my ribs and throwing out a few ribs as well. then silly me, thinking it’s just a cold and I

ADT Eligard
taking 6 months of Eligard. Taking 28 radiation treatments in first 3 months. if ADT Eligard starves prostrate cancer cells and reduces testosterone, what is rationale for continued use if radiation killed all cancer cells? Just wondering Thanks

Introduction
Was a healthy 68 year old until I contracted COVID-19 in May 2022. Approximately, two weeks after getting over the covid, severe muscle aches and pains occurred. Spent a week in pain until doctor diagnosed PMR and put me on Prednisone. For the past year my pain is tolerable but not gone. Five months

Adenomyosis
Back when I had my initial scans ahead of IVF treatment one of the Dr's diagnosed me with adenomyosis. This surprised me as no one had ever spotted this before and I thought you couldn't diagnose it from a transvaginal ultra sound. When I said "Are you sure??" she said "You definitely have adenomyosis

Jaw and Shoulder Pain
Did anyone have jaw and/or shoulder pain that was eventually relieved once they found their sweetspot? I am 24 days on 100mcg T4 and 5mcg T3. I have the jaw and shoulder pain, plus still very tired. I think the brain fog is somewhat better. It is hard to sort out brain fog and fatigue at times. I can

How to get Covid antiviral?
I may have Covid, I’ll know tomorrow when I do another lateral flow test. As it’s the weekend it has been very difficult to get info from 111 and 119. A doctor called me back and said I have to call the surgery or 111 tomorrow if I’m positive and they contact the hospital and the hospital send the antiviral

IVF and work (teaching) and stress, time off for appointments. UK
IVF and work (teaching) and stress UK I resigned from my horrible secondary school teaching job this summer and then found out our ICSI was starting (brought forward. I am currently unemployed. The nature of the appointments is very little notice. I have just failed a cycle with 3 eggs collected

Trochanteric Bursitis Diagnosis
Hello everyone - following on from my last post - hip and groin pain and all the most excellent advice and shared experiences, I rocked up at the surgery yesterday with a print out of parts of the answers I got and a piece of paper with all the things I wanted to discuss - possible bursitis, iliopoas

First Round - ICSI - No Blastocysts day 6 :(
39 years old. First round of ICSI - collected 3 eggs (i'm pretty sure some were too small to justify going in as three are the minimum requirement) And I don't think my medication was correct TBH - as I was on hold to start as a last min colposcopy had to be done as my smear test results came back low

On Benapali. Fungal infection treatment advice needed.
However I have developed some mild
fungal
infections
; Ringworm on Face,
fungal
infection on toenails, and start of athletes foot. Has anyone had more than 1 of these infections simultaneously and if so how were they treated ? Currently I’m treating them all separately as per GPs advice.

possible heart strain
I had Covid in February 2023. 3 weeks later I started getting breathless. I managed my normal activities but eventually I found I struggled with my daily 2/3 walks and walking up the stairs at home. Tested my oxygen levels with our oxymeter, which came out at 89, 90, 93. This happened over a weekend

Hives from cold weather and after getting sun burn
Has any one else had this problem I started to get hives a few years ago when exposed to cold and now have it very badly after getting sunburned. Rash with large itchy lumps. Is this part of the PMR effect on the immune system.

CLL and Covid !
My father recently got covid and had to be hospitalised for the same. He got covid related pneumonia and had to be on oxygen support (nasal cannula) for the first two days of his hospital stay. He also had elevated d dimer and CRP values. Doctors at the centre put him on a 5 day course of remdesvir

CEA Fluctuations
My husband has just completed his 3rd cycle of Carboplatin and Etoposide for prostate cancer liver mets. Before the first cycle his CEA was 38 (should be <5) This number is being used as baseline. After 1st cycle it was 30.3 but after his 2nd cycle it rose to 32.7. Is it normal for CEA to fluctuate
