Raloxifene and improved bone density
I've been taking Raloxifene for 20 years and have not seen any improvement in bone density until my last DEXA. It showed a 5.6% increase in my spine and a 3.8% increase in my right hip. There was a small but insignificant increase in my left hip. The comparisons were made to my previous DEXA which was

Medical bill for hormone treatment
I am a prostate cancer patient. I am getting Degarelix and Xgeva injections. The doctor's office sent me a bill amounting $2600 which is the deductible from Anthem blue cross. I am covered at the same time by Medicare. It seems I have to pay only 20 per cent of the $2600. But they insists I am responsible

Is There Still a Role for Bilateral Orchidectomy in ADT for Metastatic Prostate Cancer?
Recent Egyption study [1] comparing physical castration to Degarelix [Firmagon]. (Degarelix is a GnRH [LHRH] antagonist. FLARE IN KNEES ONLY
Does PMR/GCA flare up in the knees? I started a taper from (3.5 to 3.0) 2 weeks ago. One week later, both knees became sore and weak. Right now it’s more pronounced in my left knee. Pain lasts all day, and even at night. Yesterday I saw a new rheumatologist - told me to go up to 10 mg pred and get

Trying something a bit different
So, with Storm Dennis heading in my general direction, but not yet making a menace of himself, I decided to head out along the coast to Dunbar to make Lochend Woods the venue for parkrun #15. It was grey, it was a bit damp, but the winds had still to pick up and, all in all, it wasn't too bad a morning

Promising Clinical Activity of Cabozantinib + ADT in Hormone-Naïve Metastatic Prostate Cancer
TAKE-HOME MESSAGE •Cabozantinib is a small-molecule inhibitor of c-MET/VEGFR2 signaling that has yielded improved progression-free survival but not overall survival in patients with metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Undetectable 5 years and 2 months after DX of Metastatic PC w/ a PSA of 209
Hi Battle Brothers and Sisters. I don't post much, but always follow your posts. I just had my labs done today and as usual I was suffering from pre-test PSA anxiety the past few days. I was needless to say delighted and feel very lucky that I am still undetectable. If somebody told me when I was DX'ed

Adcal D3
Hello I was prescribed Adcal D3 750 Mg caplets three years ago after a Dexa scan result showed osteopenia. The GP label directions on the box were for one caplet twice a day. The actual box contains a paper information list of details however that show adults and children over 12 to take two caplets
