Wrist fusion or Not ?
Hi, I have just recovered from a scaphoid fracture but due to some previous wrist injury my surgeon tells me that I will need a wrist fusion as there is no cartilage or ligaments left. At the moment I still have full movement of my wrist and some pain but can put up with it for the sake of my wrist

What's next after Xtandi fails?
Seeking other's ideas as I sense his 16 month run with Xtandi will be ending soon. His is PSA is fluttering. He hasn't had chemo yet but has lost so much weight that he seems too frail for chemo. Popping a pill is easier but the side effects of Xtandi have been brutal for him. At age 75 and almost

Azathioprine and CBD Oil
She has Osteoporosis and has had wedge

in her spine and has had a injection at her sacroiliac which did not help at all. I know the chemist is reluctant to even give her a cough medicine because of Azathioprine.

Why do I have osteopenia?
I recently had a dexa scan because of my age (66), & was shocked to learn that I have osteopenia. Iv`e done everything right, got vitamin D, exercise & plenty of calcium, so what did I do wrong?

Week 8 Run 1 - Many lessons learned
Well as I feared, following my jubilant run on Thursday where I felt I could carry on for another 25 minutes, this run was an unmitigated disaster from the start. But rather than get deflated I’m going to learn. I did my brisk walk on my way to the start of my local parkrun, paused the app as I usually

Still undetectable 56 months after DX w/ original 209 PSA and bone mets..
Hi all; Great news today still showing a PSA of <0.02. I never ever thought that this would have been possible after my initial horrific DX let alone that I would still be alive. Still on the monthly injection of Firmagon (which I hate) and daily 50 mg of Casodex. I do have to admit that the side effects

possible treatment change/ markers increasing
He just called me again, the x-rays are fine, just the very small lesion on the hip, no
fractures
. He squeezed me in for Monday 6/17 with the new Onc , he is still there for 2 more weeks, just not seeing PTs only finishing paperwork.

Xgeva shots
My husband has extensive metastatic cancer and is being treated with zytiga and prednisone . He is getting xgeva shots once in awhile as They won’t prolong life but may help prevent breakage. Should I try to be more vigilant about getting these shots monthly. It has more to do with our travel schedule

Cost and Cut Backs
I finally saw my conslutant and explained this to him, as I was concerned about the
fractures
and breaks. Turns out my calcium and Vit D way below and his thought I had been on the calcichew D3 forte he'd prescribed all this time.

How can my Dad get his Calcium level up?
Low Calcium 8.2 —1 month ago. Besides 2 -600mg of Calcium a day and 2 glasses of milk a day, how can my Dad get his numbers up? The last 2 visits have been 8.2. His only Xgeva shot was in January 2019. He is on Xtandi and Lupron. Thank you! Kimberly

My husband got his psa checked yesterday which is 3 month after RT and 6mo after his Eligard shot. It was .64 from 1.1. His appt with UO is in a few weeks. Since it didn't get to an undetectable level, what would be the next expected step? Do the Drss just wait and see at this stage? He is having

***15Months So far so good***
Good morning all my Brothers. Had 15 month exam yesterday Doc says all numbers look good and I'm feeling okay. I got my Xgeva shot and we talked about new treatments on the Horizon that sound very promising. I don't think I will be the recipient of any of them due to the red tape they will need to ensure

Firmagon vs Lupron
I was started on hormone therapy last fall after exhausting all other (USA) treatment options. Initially I had monthly Firmagon shots in my belly (ouch!) and both my PSA and testosterone went close to zero. After two months my MO switched me to Lupron. Since then my PSA has been steadily rising. I wonder

metastatic bone pain from advanced PC
Can anyone who actually has it please describe for me exactly what metastatic bone pain feels like. I've got prostate cancer. No doubt about that. Gleason score from biopsy 5+4=9 bilaterally. MRI report says among other things "diffuse inhomogeneous marrow signals of bony pelvis...correlate with bone
