Asthma attack.
Since starting
Fostair
twice daily I have been fine I had a bad arrack of breathlessness this evening and could not breath. I felt as though I was suffocating. Terrifying. I am having a lot of stress in my life at present? Is this the cause? What triggers a sudden attack?

9 chest infections in 12 months...
G.Ps have been good - am now on Montelukast and
Fostair
- but are reluctant to refer me onto a chest specialist. Given my mum's history of asthma and broncietasis, i want to push for this. Whole situation is getting me down. Any ideas?! Thanks, Helena

Worsening asthma after flu
I take
fostair
with occasional use of a reliever. However, after a visit to see grandchildren, I have picked up a flu-like illness and suffered for around ten days now. My asthma is currently much worse with tight chest, wheezing, coughing, and no apparent improvement over this period.

New design of inhaler
I have recently been prescribed
Fostair
200/6. It suits me OK. I am on my second issue now. The first one had a counter on the back. This second one does not. Has the design of the inhaler changed?

Are Asthma Meds Depleting your Potassium?
For example only, the Patient Information Leaflet for
Fostair
contains a related caution - though I gather
Fostair
is far from the only Med involved. So why is this a big deal? Arguably the two most important nutrients we need are Magnesium and Potassium.

Weak legs again
Nearly every inhaler I have been prescribed over the years make my legs feel weak shortly after using it I asked to be prescribed the
Fostair
Nexthaler early this year and this has not caused the weak legs side effect in either the 100/6 or 200/6 dosage.

Beware of misdiagnosis! My story...
Finally my diagnosis was adjusted to asthma/copd (ACOS) and I was discharged with ventolin and high dose
Fostair
inhalers.

Asthma?
I have been taking
Fostair
and don't seem to need anything else , my breathing seems fine. I just wonder how the tests are classed as normal when I take an inhaler anyway? Can bad chest infections leave you with asthma? Is it likely to become copd or is it that already?

Very confused!
Doctor has just suggested a third course of steroids for a whole week to knock it on the head plus allow time to get used to
fostair
and if it doesn't calm down afterwards we can look into hospital tests. Losing lots of sleep means I am tired for work the next day.

Asthma investigations
To explain, I have had a cough day and night now for about 5 weeks now, and even with using my
fostair
the doctor doesn't think it's properly controlled, as I'm having to use my salbutamol a lot more to.
