Soya a high fodmap?
I have been on the diet for 4 days so far. I noticed an immediate improvement in the first 2 days but went back to normal since. I had soya on day 3. It seems to be a maybe food to avoid.

Recipe suggestions for very limited diet
I have tried gluten free, dairy free,
FODMAP
, Atkins, you name it. Now hugely overweight and very ill and unhappy these are the only foods which don't seem to make things any worse after 5 years.

Feeling very low...low fodmap diet has not helped :(
What a week..been really swollen, constipation intermixed with looser stools, headaches, nausea..was so desperate for pain relief on Saturday I spent 3 hours at the hospital only to be told I should take Oramorph, which I did as desperate for some relief..downside of which spent 3 days even more constipated

Apples
Until reading this
FODMAP
fact I had eaten apples for the last 10 years (along with loose motions etc) Now after about two weeks I notice that my motions are firmer, though I still wake with an urgent need to move them. I hope that I have found one of the triggers.

Colourful FODMAP list
Hi all, just found this easy to read traffic light system list of FODMAPS. Not sure how accurate. But it says on the bottom that they have used Monash as a source. Nice to print off and take with you when you hit the grocers:-)

Fodmap advice is not offered by the NHS in Scotland?!!
I went back to my GP today to ask again about a dietician or nutritionist who could help me with the
fodmap
diet. I was told again, that unless I am morbidly obese or diabetic I was not entitled to help with my diet, despite the pain I am in with ibs.

Has the low fodmap diet helped anyone like me?
Hi there, is anyone finding the low
fodmap
diet is working for them? I've been on it for a week and I'm surprised at the difference it's having.

Coffee!!
Have had IBS for 2 years now and manage symptoms using a combination of
fodmap
diet and listening to my body!! Last night I was at a friends house for a meal and as I was driving and feeling fine 'stupidly' drank 4 mugs of coffee and boy did I suffer during the night with pain and diarrhoea!

Excellent low FODMAP info available from the NHS at last.
My dietitian at Winchester has just sent me some very comprehensive, fresh-off-the-printing-press literature on the low
FODMAP
diet. These booklets (3 in total) will make it so much easier for we fodmappers than having to try and find our way around lists of Australian and American foodstuffs.

Does anyone else have a problem with rice and/or oats?
I'm on a low
FODMAP
diet which gives me 90% control of my IBS. However, I find that I have a very bad flare-up (pain, wind and diarrhoea) if I eat rice or oats no matter how they're served.

I'm at my wits end. My GP won't support the fodmap diet as its not recognised in the UK and I'm trying to do it in my own.
I thought I'd start with reducing the candida in my stomach, another thing she won't support, and the information in the Internet is so contradictory. I'm not sure that I'm doing it right or when I can expect to feel any better. My GP thinks I'm neurotic and it's really knocked my confidence. But I'm

Does anyone know what is in glucose syrup that can irritate me?
Today I cooked a really nice shepherd's pie (
FODMAP
style as I am on day 14 of this). It was just minced beef, stock and mashed potato. To make it tastier I used a stock cube that said on the packet it was gluten free.

Help with the FODMAP app
I paid £7 to download the
FODMAP
diet on my iPhone. It asked me to put on a scale certain things I am sensitive too. So I just put them all as super sensitive as I didn't know what some of these things were.
