Flecainide
Morning all, just asking, from everyone on
flecainide
, is it ok to take an extra table when AF is lurking on and off. Been great for a few months but stressed lately with this and that. Would appreciate any comments or should I contact the consultants department at Liverpool. Pat

Do I...Don't I ?????
(Not an EP) I don't really get many problems in fact since being on
Flecainide
for a number of years I have not had an episode. However the GP thought i was a good idea to touch base with the Consultant.

Should I be worried?
and have reduced Bisoprool from 7.5 to 2.5mg daily and stopped
Flecainide
on recommendation from Arrythmia Nurse at follow up appointment. However my heart rate has been consistently higher since the ablation (was approx 65 prior to ablation), running from high 70's to high 80's.

On medication now offered ablation - did anyone's AF get worse on medication meaning they opted for ablation?
But I also realise this is step by step and my symptoms could ease - especially as
flecainide
been increased. Thanks everyone!

AF starting in the middle of the night again
Have taken extra
Flecainide
as usual and now waiting to see if this is successful. I am very disappointed as my rhythm has been so steady since the last episode. It is now 31 days post ablation.

Flecainide & Tinnitus
Hi, I have been on
Flecainide
100mg twice a day since my cardioversion in July for AF and over the past few weeks have developed ringing in my right ear that is now constant and annoying. I have read that ringing in the ears is a rare side effect of
Flecainide
.

Abalation go ahead
I've had side effects to most meds over the last few years meaning I was just on
flecainide
as PIP from January. I was living in fear of a afib turn and had a couple a month. They lasted 2 hours but enough to affect my QOL.

AF starting in the middle of the night again (The sequel)
Having tried to get my rhythm back twice with extra
Flecainide
and Bispoprol on Tuesday it was clear to me that by mid morning yesterday that this course of action was not going to be successful on this occasion.

Back on an even keel
Flecainide
now down to 50 mg twice a day. Bisoprolol has been stopped as I was like a zombie on 1.25 . Respect to all you folk who have to cope with big doses ( I realise this is not a choice).

Trying to stay positive. 🙄
I came off
Flecainide
in June and the EP said that if everything was ok I could come off the Bisoprolol in September.

Unused Medication
I took Sotalol for a short time recently and before I could use a new batch that had been delivered, I was changed back on to
Flecainide
by my EP.

Missing beats ??
Have reduced my
flecainide
from 100 twice daily to 50 twice daily! Have been feeling generally good (chest pain subsided). Yesterday morning woke feeling strange, thought it was AF but checking my pulse found I am getting missing beats....what seems to be quite big gaps actually!

Shorter episodes thanks to Flecainide?
So, for those of you who state that
Flecainide
has been a good friend to you over the years, please let me know if it reduced the duration of your episodes in a similar way. Many thanks

Woke up in AF
I took my normal
Flecainide
and Bisoprolol dose at 5:00 so have now, 6:20, taken an extra 100mg of
Flecainide
and extra 1.25Mg Bisoprolol. I am now hoping this will successfully revert me to NSR. I know that I should have been prepared for this but it doesn't lessen my disappointment. Pete

Saw EP today
Fourthly - no other action required unless I feel ill or have frequent episodes and then his recommendation will be
Flecainide
intravenous followed by cardioversion ASAP so that the AF doesn't beget itself.

Flecainide 2 years
I have been taking 100mg 2 times daily and it has held my PAF at bay. Are there any long term side effects from taking the drug? How long can this be effective? I'm very happy that it is working but could anyone answer the above? Thanks Mark
