Dad on vent/trach for 3 weeks battling covid. Breathing over ventilator...
They said his x days look like he has extensive
fibrosis
, but they can’t be sure. The drs have very little hope and have suggested comfort care and signing and DNR. My dad is only 56 and explicitly said he wants every chance to fight bf being intubated.

Difficulty with Doctors - Fatty liver with symptoms
I have tried quoting BLT advice to the GP and the Nice guidelines on Fatty liver e.g.
fibrosis
tests should be done to asses damage but this falling on deaf ears and they just say my liver is fine... which could be the case, in fact i hope it is.

ELF blood test
I understand from my reading of this forum, that this test can indicate that
fibrosis
is present. Is it normal for a GP to use this request now instead of LFTs or is it because he thinks my liver is damaged to a greater degree? 2.

NAFLD
Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with NAFLD 18 months ago without
fibrosis
. I have just had an elf test with the advice to take no further action if below 10.5. My score is 9.9 which comes under the severe range. Does this score mean that I now have irreversible scarring?

3 weeks after my hysterectomy
Hi All ☺️ Just wanted to post as a few have asked how I’m doing after my total hysterectomy, I know everyone’s experience will be different but for me it’s the best thing I’ve done. I’m still recovering but I have no pain 🥳 moving about going on short walks and just feeling better in myself. Adenomyosis

Probably Alc Cirrhosis...What Now?
Alcoholic
fibrosis
unfortunately does not regress, and can rapidly deteriorate. I doubt a transplant is an option on account of the pancreas. Considering some sort of end-of-life care at the moment.

Could a Class A drug (Ecstasy) help with Alcohol Addiction?
So, swapping one set of treatments for another, might not prove so encouraging for those with liver
fibrosis
or cirrhosis. Richard.

Blood Work Back - Sigh Not good News
My BMB was thoroughly reviewed by a few pathologists (at my insistence as my ongoing Leukocytosis made me think perhaps we are dealing with masked PV) - confirmed ET (for now) - no scarring/
fibrosis
and blasts <3%.

Any body had any luck with a double embryo transfer after three failed single embryo transfers?
Any body had success with transfering two embryos , previously had three fails with single embryo transfers . They are also going to be prescribing progesterone injections instead of just pessaries.

AST 240, ALT 270. Should I be worried? Please help me. :(
I had ultrasound and the conclusion was that I might have
fibrosis
and early hepatic change. Could anyone help me with this? Is this because I have a fatty liver? I used to eat fried food + sugar a lot (I gave up on sugar since last year, 2019 and don’t usually have fried food.)

Newly diagnosed with NAFLD
Have had numerous blood tests and the results came back (non alcoholic fatty liver
fibrosis
score -4.297) I was also told I have raised cholesterol, I’m prediabetic and have pre hypertension. Firstly can anybody tell me what score means? And secondly what do I do now?

Post Embryo Transfer
Hi, I got my embryo transfer yesterday but the embryologist said that it is borderline too. Today i have very bad back pain too. Feels like pain before periods I normally have. I'm really confused. No implantation bleed yet. But back pain is really bad. Is anyone else's symptoms similar to mine? Unfortunately

Cyst & Norethisterone
Hi everyone, so my cyst is producing hormones and this cycle has been delayed. So frustrating but it is what it is. The clinic have prescribed Norethisterone tablets from day 14 to help flush it out, then another scan on day 20 and hopefully start Buserelin on day 21. Does anyone have experience of

Hope!!
Hi, I’m just reaching out to get some positive advice and stories! I’ve been going through fertility treatment for over a year now. I have had 4 failed IUI transfers, 1 full failed IVF cycle and I’m now onto my next IVF cycle. This journey has been the most emotional journey I’ve ever been through

My thoughts on Fatty Liver
Regular Physicians, Gastros, Hepatologist, do not take Fatty Liver serious unless you have
Fibrosis
or a more serious Liver Disease. 4.

Slightly Raised Calprotectin and FIT Test. What Now?
This is a follow up to my last post: https://healthunlocked.com/theibsnetwork/posts/145137298/constant-lower-abdominal-pain-but-no-change-in-bowels-getting-desperate. In summary, I'm a 27-year-old female and I've been having lower abdominal pain and trapped wind pain (only at night!) since about September
