Update on unexpected cholesterol rise.
18 days ago I posted that id had an unexpected rise in my cholesterol level, despite no change to diet etc. However I did change to taking my atorvastatin in the morning rather than night time, due to concern it was causing insomnia. Low UIBC result from bloodwork?
Hi, All. I had bloodwork done recently and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the low UIBC might be affecting my RLS/PLMD. Ferritin was 169 (down from very high values after a blood infusion for rls in April 2021). The UIBC was flagged as Low at 126, Iron Saturation was flagged as high: Iron 172 UIBC

Post Menopausal Dizziness & Anxiety
I'm 67. I went through menopause at 50 using herbal supplements-not too many problems with hot sweats but noticed an increase in anxiety but managed a stressful job . Fast forward to now, I feel light headed and off balance nearly all the time-pollen season is worse due to histamine so I have to watch

To Trial or not to Trial?
I have decided not to trial. Going to just do the Venetaclax & Obin protocol. I’m just not in the mood for the extra appointments and brain damage that invariably comes with them. I’m waiting for a start date. Had the bone marrow biopsy and endless other tests this week - decided not to peek at the

Help for appointment.
Hi, I have my first actual face to face appointment with my Endo on Tuesday next week since lock down. I had written to him a few months back to say I wasn't feeling particularly great, and I pointed out my just in range T4 and said I think I would benefit with an increase in my Levothyroxine and maybe

Secondary hypothyroidism
Can anyone please tell me where free t4 should be at for secondary hypothyroidism. Should it be in mid range to upper third? Mine was 1.01 in a range of 0.76 to 1.46. I feel very hypo.

Folic acid stomach acid
In April I was not well, could not function, and had many symptoms including shortness of breadth, tachycardia, weakness and blurred vision (trouble focusing). Only thing the doctors could prescribe were Omeprazole and Acidex which made me worse. Blood test revealed I was prediabetic. April 2023 HbA1c

T4 remains low in spite of medication
I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism many years ago by Dr Peatfield, and was medicated (Armour) until I emigrated in 2000. At that time I could no longer access meds from Dr P, and could not get diagnosed where I was. Fast forward 17 years (without treatment) and I returned home and started the

Any advice for a friend? Folate, ferritin and Vitamin D…
Hello… I have a friend who has been hypothyroid for decades, and is now late seventies. She has felt suddenly exhausted and put it down to life events, but had a FBC, which the GP said was ‘fine’. Having had such invaluable help from so many of you on here, I suggested she got the results emailed, and

Started Testosterone, already on T4/T3 combo - getting side effects 😳
Hi all. I’ve been stable on 75mcg levo and x3 doses of 5mcg lio for some time. 11 days ago I started testosterone for menopause taking Testogel 1/8th of a packet daily. Been feeling better but the last couple of nights have struggled with insomnia - sleeping fitfully and not to very long at all! (I

Effect of thyroid meds on adrenals
I have been on levothyroxine for 2 years, numbers were good but wasn't converting well so I added a bit of Cytomel, 3 mcg. I felt ok, but not great. I tried to increase the Cytomel dose to 5 mcg but it made me sleepy all day. I finally lost weight and my face looked really good. Maybe I should have continued

Elvanse Vyvanse for ADHD & anxiety - Are these side effects normal or is it the wrong med?
Days 1, 2, 3 of Elvanse felt INCREDIBLE. Like a fog lifted - happier than i remember being in yeaaars with so much motivation and energy to get stuff done. Also waayy more sociable. ...but weeks later I don't feel nearly that amount of stimulation and I'm trying to navigate side effects/increased anxiety

Just recived letter of endo appointment 🤔
Hi everyone ❤️... Just recived the letter that tells you the surgery are referring you to an endocrinologist at Newcastle, no idea at the moment who that is.But I've popped a few pointers to discuss with them, mainly the awful symptoms on both the T4, T3. We I hope, will probably discuss alternative
