Genetic test positive
In November 2023 my iron labs were increased. Ferritin 117 TSAT 58 my doctor said we would retest in six month and do genetic testing but wasn’t concerned. My results just came in and it showed homogenous for H63D. I haven’t been able to speak with him yet. I am extremely scared.

advice please
I posted before my trial off B12 and now I’m posting recent bloods and diary of symptoms. I hope that someone can look over them to help me. I fear that they aren’t going to reinstate my b12 injections. hope it all makes sense History Diverticulitis diagnosed 2018 Hashimoto’s diagnosed 2019

which way to go (severe RLS)
Dear members, I am here trying to help my mother, whose RLS is poorly controlled these days. Just some background info: in 2021 she was put on Pramipexole, first just 0.125 mg was controlling her symptoms well, but it only lasted for half a year maybe. So her current dose is 0.375, which she splits

Low Ferritin
Hello, I have discovered that my ferritin levels are very low. I would prefer not to take Ferrous Fumerate and wondered if anybody had any suggestions for an alternative please? Many thanks for your time.

Gp agreed to levo dose increase -and talked about B12 injections!
Hello all, I'm still a bit in shock as twice in the last week I've spoken to the same GP who was insisting my bloods were normal and not wanting to look further. I've just had a face to face at his request (because of all the symptoms and background I detailed in my letter) and he has agreed for me

So my sister has just found that she has haemochromatosis...
Since then we have successfully got her GP to acknowledge her Hypothyroidism and prescribe T4 and I got her to again enquire about her high
ferritin
, this time he listened and ran a genetic
test
which is positive and suggests testing first degree relatives...

Ferritin Questions
Hi everyone. I self inject b12, 3x per week. I also take a daily dose of methylfolate. In the past both of these have been extremely low, along with very low ferritin. Of late I have wondered if my iron was dropping, so requested bloods a couple of weeks ago. Folate happily is pretty good at 19( at

A Method To Increase Ferritin Level
Hi, just sharing this info if it's any help for anyone. I've always struggled to increase my ferritin levels over the years. It tends to stay down at 20-40 ug/L. Supplementing iron and eating iron rich foods will elevate it a bit more for me but what has worked the best is iron as a transdermal patch

Ferritin success, anyone wishing to try the same ... especially if vegan
After years with ferritin scraping along bottom of the range it has at last risen, to nearly double and I thought others might like to know to see if the same works for you too. There are two things I have done (after prescribed ferrous fumarate did not resolve the problem), 1) I regularly take

Iron deficiency
After blood tests showed low ferritin and other values indicating iron deficient anaemia, the NHS did a fairly thorough job over 6 months with various tests and procedures to eliminate internal bleeds as a cause ( anticoagulant doesn't help!). Inflammation and RLS
I have always believed that inflammation was part of my RLS. I believe this because my RLS responds well to ibuprofen. A recent blog was using this study http://www.smj.org.sg/sites/default/files/SMJ-57-514.pdf The study is from 2016. The study proposes to use the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio
