Difficulties Breathing and Slight Pain in the Chest and Bottom Leftside of Ribcage
For over 3 monthsI have been experiencing fatigue, breathlessness when walking only a few paces, and lightheaded. I have had ECG and blood tests, and MRI but unable to find anything, except that i have 40% function. My heart attack was March 23, together with pericarditis for 6 months after. I

DI02 Test advice please
Following a really useful twitter thread about the Deiodinase 2 gene and its effects on response to levothyroxine, I have ordered and received a saliva test for DIO2 but need to loop in a medical practitioner to receive the results. I have an appointment with my GP this week to discuss blood test results

GP appointment went well!
So I had a follow up appointment about my latest blood results… vitamin D was at 174 and ferritin at 43.5 ug/L (20.0 - 130.0) My GP was not concerned about my vitamin D level and said resume at whatever I am taking as it’s not a toxic level 🤷🏻♀️ The ferritin level however he agreed is in range but

I’ve never posted on here before as I’ve been really lucky with my surgery and treatment of my B12. However, on 05/01/24 I was informed that this would be my last injection, I would need a blood test to confirm if my injections were to be continued. Quite open about the fact that everyone in the surgery

Hyperthyroid update
Happy New Year, everyone! Since my last post, I received an appointment with my Endo department for this coming Thursday 11th. Since being put back on carbimazole and propanolol, my heart rate in particular is back to normal. I checked with the Endo department whether I needed a blood test beforehand

the curse of lifelong RLS…
I eventually had the
blood
test
,
ferritin
was low at 19 ng/ml and, refusing an iron transfusion, he prescribed a course of oral iron which I took for many years. At my request when I was 54 a kinder GP referred me to the neurology department at Kings College hospital London.

Recovery of Testosterone
We all have heard about how long it takes to recover testosterone after you stop ADT. You probably also heard how age affects recovery time. The older you are the longer it takes and the T may never recover. The type of ADT you take can also affect recovery time - shot versus pill. I am 78 and I have

PMR and new COVID mNRA vaccine
I was 1 month off prednisone in March 2021 when I received the second of two initial (Moderna) vaccines. PMR came back within a couple days; could not lift my arms or turn over in bed. I started back on prednisone sometime in April 2021 after blood tests showed elevated ESR and CRP. I’ve had no trouble

Annoyed!
After my previous post “Is this PMR or something else?” I went for another chiropractor appointment for my arm. Apparently it is a trapped nerve in my neck. A lot of manipulation which initially made it feel worse , but since then is slowly improving. An ice pack helps! Today I had a telephone appointment

Hey All, Just an update. Spent the night in hospital with mum as she had severe chest pain when breathing in. Lots of scans and blood tests later we know the following; - pain is from fluid on the lungs, which has reduced (but still prevalent) since her last scan in September - she still has ascieties

Is evidence of AFib on ECG. The same as confirmed Afib
I was just wondering, if heart palpitations and evidence of AFib on the ecg. Is the same as confirmed AFib. I have had 3 episodes of heart palpitations, but still fighting infection from Ecoli and acute necrotising pancreatitis. Infection markers were well over 400 and now down to around 40 from last

Worried about blood
Hi all Since September ish I have been suffering with constipation. I went to my doctors and was prescribed laxido. This helped and I was able to go toilet with no pain. I stopped taking it as I didn't want to be dependant on it but the constipation returned. I do about 90% of the time have bright red

Prescribed levothyroxine at last!
After a long struggle, you know how it goes... I have finally been offered a trial of levothyroxine by a GP. My Medichecks results in 2020 were ignored by my GP (serum TSH 6 range 0.7-4.2) plus presence of large amount of antibodies. NHS ones kept coming back 'normal'. A different GP agreed to

Results guidance please
Hello, Please could I ask for some advice on my recent blood test results? I’m on a journey to understanding the link between thyroid function and repeated miscarriages (I’ve put more details in my bio section). These were my results from December 2023 (from blue horizon). I spoke to a private endocrinologist

Update re: Gallbladder issue.
I am having my gall bladder removed on the 9th any advice or tips on recovery would be very welcome. Backstory is that I have had intermittent issues for several years. Mentioned to my GP (Male) who to be honest did not seem very interested in my symptoms, was given PPI for "indigestion" as blood

Help with test results - haemochromatosis with iron deficiency?
A few years ago I regularly had blood tests which showed high iron levels so my doc suspected Haemochromatosis. I had the genetic testing which showed I had the gene mutation. I used to get blood drawn to treat it and bring down my iron levels. However, recently I had blood tests which showed low ferritin
